Exactly what I needed and works perfect
I powered it using a snap-on AC tap near my Bluetooth transmitter. Note that this claims to power 1.0A, which is a little more than the standard USB 2.0 downstream port, but not the charging down stream port of 1.5A. Here are what different types of ports can supply: USB 1.0, USB 1.1, and USB 2.0 standard downstream ports can supply up to 500 mA (milliamperes). USB 3.0 standard downstream ports can provide up to 900 mA. USB 3.0 charging downstream ports can supply up to 1,500 mA.
I use it as intended, to charge a USB device. It works as suppose to but it is made cheap and flimsy. The input port came loose from the plug after 2nd use. I managed to pop it back in, but still unsure how safe it is.
The plug itself is not as pictured. It is a tapered plug, which does not work well in older outlets.
