Kids definitely have to put in the work to unearth the dinosaurs, so it's not a quick activity. My students spent more than an hour to get the dinosaur out, and they loved every minute! The plaster or whatever material the egg is made of can be messy and dusty, so maybe have a shoe box or something for them to work in to contain the mess.

He loves the eggs. The eggs did not have to be soaked in water first, but handy to have water to rinse the excavation tools. The little dinosaurs inside the eggs were of decent quality. The cards that came with the eggs, though, had several that were incorrectly printed. The pictures and the information did not always match. The word chess for the game mat is a little misleading, but fun. And having 12 eggs makes it last longer. Overall, a wonderful product, and I recommend it.

item is great size so that it doesnt take up too much room to play with. it can be played with in a multi dinosaur setting too.

This is a Christmas present so it hasnt been given to my grandson yet. its a really nice set. I'm sure he will love it. The set comes with really nice wooden dice, a game, cards that describe each dinosaur and different dinosaurs in each egg; plus the tools to dig each. This is a complete set. Everything you need is included.

This was the best gift! I got it for my grandboys but I had the best time playing with this! The fact that it's wireless is total bonus!! Definitely recommend and would and will buy again.

It's fine if your child doesn't have super high expectations. My 6.5 year old immediately pointed out the flaws in the ability to turn, its tendency to get stuck and such. He liked playing with it to “chase” the puppy and it is certainly entertaining. I'm pretty middle of the road on this one, but the price point makes the disappointments easier to swallow.
