My '09 Ford Ranger transmission calls for Mercon V. At my first trans fluid and filter change, I added a drain plug to the transmission oil pan. Since then, every time I change motor oil (7500 miles), I drain the trans fluid too. It takes about 3 1/2 quarts of fluid to refill the trans to operating level. I have always used Valvoline Mercon V. My last change was at 292,500 miles. I have never had a problem with the transmission.

This is a great Mercon V ATF fluid. I was a little skeptical at first since it wasn't a licensed ford product, but I'm glad I used it. My manual tranny on my 91 ford was running hot and some gears were grinding a little. Swapped out the fluid with this, and everything was fixed. No more grinding gears, and transmission stays normal temps. Absolutely saved my transmission. Would definitely recommend.

I have used this product in both my Ford trucks (06 F150, 07 F150) transmission and power steering pumps with great success. Both still have factory transmissions and steering pumps with a combined mileage of 320k miles. Would highly recommend it for your older Ford trucks.

It's equivalent to the Ford @ half the price and it was available! But next time see if you can get it out of the Safford Store so I know the drivers who'll deliver %26 can ask them to bring it right up to our home!

Best price anywhere. This item goes for $8-10 anywhere else on the internet or in retail stores. Getting it for $4.96 was great. It was NOT old leftover stock either. I checked the manufacture date and it was only 2 months old.

Do NOT order Transmission fluid to be shipped from Walmart as the packing employees just toss them in a box and ship. Letting them leak all over from not being secured , bagged and properly packaged.By the time you get the fluid might as well figure on at least 2 of the 12qt bottles to leak out all over inside box and then outside box.So when you get your package you see you have paid for fluid you wont get to use! ONLY order online and PICKUP oil/transmission fluids , DONT have them ship fluids!
