I have using Valvoline advance and Valvoline restore oils for a few years now in all my vehicles. My preference is Valvoline Restore as my truck is close to 200,000 miles. I will use either extended or restore if it's not in stock as both are great substitutions. My 2013 F150 engine at idle is super quiet and smooth at acceleration for a 13 years old vehicle. My mechanic is always impressed with the truck and I can testify that Valvoline products are my number 1 choice . Best place to make a purchase is at Walmarts .
Bought this for my 5.3 litre chevy pickup. The manufacturer recommends 0w20, but after much research i opted for valvoline 5w30. It did help my oil pressure and hope it extends my engine life. Have driven 5000 miles since i purchased and have been very happy. I haven't noticed an increase or decrease in mpg to this point. When looking for this oil Walmart had the best price locally and was in stock. Will definitely continue using this oil and viscosity from now on.
Having walmart's delivery service makes doing a full synthetic oil change a breeze. in this economy saving a few bucks and diy makes sense. walmart made it a breeze.
This oil holds up well. You usually can't expect using a different oil to reduce oil loss between changes but this is working great for me! Saves me money!
Purchased this oil for my 2015 edge. I feel it has great protection for my motor with higher mileage. Would recommend I've been using for many years now.
The oil is a group III SYNTHETIC OIL, not group IV. It has a very good viscosity index compared to normal mineral oils and is certified for use with engines using turbo chargers. I'm using it in higher mileage older non turbo charged engines that used lower viscosity mineral oils per the OEM. Its price in this package is good when compared to group IV Synthetic oils. I prefer to change oil more frequently for longer engine life reducing average dirt loads in the oil and having less average viscosity shear during the oil interval. It complies with my philosophy that oil is cheap and you don't have to have expensive engine repairs because of long engine life.
I have used Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic in my last 4 pickups from new. I drive many miles yearly for work and for pleasure, and have never had one issue with an engine, even with over 300,000 miles on it. I do use a full synthetic rated oil filter as well, and change both at around 5000 miles.
I started drag racing seriously back in the early 70s. I started out using a top brand oil but it was foaming and I would have to completely refresh the engine after the season was over. I switched to another brand of oil and it was better, not foaming as bad and the bearings looked a bit better but still needed to be replaced. I then switched to Valvoline racing oil and never did see any foam and when I inspected the bearings they looked as if they were new so I put them right back in and went 2 more seasons before another rebuild. I am still using Valvoline and have no intention of quitting.
The 5 qt jug is perfect for my needs...I've used Valvoline products since my 1st car, 53 yrs! Never a failure, I own 4 classic AMC cars and a 2019 Jeep. and every fluid is Valvoline.....thank you for a lifetime of worry free driving.
The synthetic oil I originally purchased was $10 cheaper, looked like a great deal. Wal mart web site said it was in stock, ready to go, so I pulled the trigger. A day later, I get a msg saying it's out of stock, would I like an alternative at higher price. Same thing happened when I bought a tv at Wal mart site. The great deal, then the switcheroo. Never again, Wal mart.
