Van Helsing [Blu-ray]

I absolutely love the story. Action packed and great special effects for the time period. I had to purchase this new BluRay disc for my new BluRay player. I owned this movie on DVD, but it got messed up. I'm so happy to be able to watch this movie again!

my uncle he loves Van Helsing movies we ordered the Blu-ray and regular DVD because they're both the same so I returned the Blu-ray one but Van Helsing make some good movies

I ordered Van Helsing (Blu-ray). It arrived in perfect condition. Great movie.

This is a fun movie. There's not much of a plot, but it's a clear homage to the Universal monster movies of the 30s and 40s. Many of the later films that threw monsters together, especially Dracula, the Frankenstein monster and the Wolf Man, had little plot also. This is definitely similar to those, but instead of trying to be a scary horror film, this is an action adventure re-imagining, similar to Stephen Sommers' Mummy films. This time, he took the character of Van Helsing from Bram Stoker's classic Dracula and changed him from a scientist with knowledge of the occult to a monster slayer. Aside from Dracula, Van Helsing also takes on werewolves, Frankenstein's monster and Mr. Hyde. The action is over the top, the plot is cheesy and the CGI looks bad even by 2004 standards. (they used the same software as Lord of the Rings) But, that's all OK because this is a fun popcorn flick. If you like those old horror movies from back in the day, especially the later films in the Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolf Man series and you like ramped up action romps, then this is a super fun movie you should definitely check out. The picture and sound on the blu-ray are also great, definitely better than the DVD I replaced with this.
