I used a rice cooker to cook this rice. other rice is sticky, despite rinsing. i did rinse for a little bit prior to cooking but the texture really helped and made perfect spanish rice.

rice weevils
I like this rice and have purchased it numerous times. However, the last two bags I ordered (two months apart) have contained rice weevils. It's not worth driving to the store to return. In future I will buy a different brand and one that comes in a hard plastic container.

inspect your rice!
inspect your rice. this is the second time that I've bought a Verde valley product and the first time, the lentils had tiny pebbles mixed in, and this time, the rice literally, has insects crawling around inside of the bag. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! INSPECT EVERY BAG THAT YOU BUY! all those little dark spots in the rice a black bugs.

I needed BEANS and you substitute for RICE! My God, I can't believe it. If you substitute something it's about the tag or the size, but THIS! It's not replacing, it's CHANGING EVERYTHING! EX : DRIED rosemary can be substituted for the FRESH HERB. but is always rosemary
