I had been using another brand but still had to force the pills down their throats because they learned how to eat around the pills. With these my dogs don't even know the pills are inside. When they hear the bag opening they come running. So happy now that medicine time is no longer frustrating for them and me.
My dog was recently diagnosed with cushings disease and needs to take medication on a daily basis. These work perfectly for the liver pill he needs nightly. He eats the entire thing!
This product is the absolute best way to administer medication to your picky dog. My senior beagle loves these pill treats and takes his meds without any problems.
My dog is small (10 lbs) and chews his treat versus gobbling it. He manages to eat everything but the treat if it's in a soft pill treat These are firmer and stay closed when I pinch the ends closed. I do have to use a chopstick to enlarge the hole for pills bigger than a capsule.
My dog is on arthritis meds - very bitter. i could not get her to take them with ANY of her usual favorites like peanut butter or cheese. Greenies Pill Pockets were a dismal failure, but she gobbles them right down with Pill Treats. The hickory smoke bacon flavor does a great job in masking the pill taste, and they are half the price of the Greenies. They are doubly economic as the large size will hold capsules as well as pills, 2 pills at a time. If they are a little dry you can insert the pill, pinch the ends and wet with a little water. Or you can add a small piece of bread to the bag and within 8 or so hours the bread will be dried out and the treats will be soft and pliable. I love these things; better yet, my dog loves them. Buy em!
My biggest issue with these pill pockets is that they are pretty hard, they definitely aren't as soft as other brands. My dog however could care less, she loves them.
My male Shih Tzu is 16-years-old. I give him a supplement that helps with his arthritis plus it has willow bark in it for his pain. I used to wrap his pill in a piece of lunch meat, but he got smart and spits out the pill and just ate the meat. Now I stick the pill in this pill pocket. The pocket itself is firm and almost hard. He has some trouble chewing the pocket because he had the teeth on one side removed when he broke them on a hard toy. I will continue to use these until I find a softer pill pocket that is easier for him to chew.
My dog wont eat these and I dont blame him. These pill treats are hard like as if they were made out of a hard plastic material
I cannot believe that this product was delivered this way. The box has clearly been open and destroyed and then taped up. And not the box that it came in the actual product box. I will be returning this item.
I can't recommend this product to anyone. The "treats" are inconsistent in size, some are 1/4" long, some are over an inch. Both ends are open and they are hard and very difficult to enclose the pill or capsule inside. I guess you get what you pay for. I will be exploring other options or going back to Greenies Pill Pockets.
