This wheel arrived intact in new condition free of dents, scratches, etc. The wheel produced a thumping noise when first turned out. Inspection showed the drive belt was not centered. Centering the belt was very easy and the thumping noise disappeared. The wheel has a lot of torque and other than the lack of bat pins is a good full sized affordable pottery wheel.
Shipping was fast! Love this pottery wheel. Hard to find this size for the price.
The wheel seems to run fine but I have not been able to make the splash pan fit any way I've tried. It just doesn't fit. It scrapes the wheel and makes an awful sound just before it snatches it off and th rows at you. I may be able to modify it somewhat but haven't tried yet. absolutely no pamphlet or instruction sheet comes with it. Other than that its okay.
Although delivery was prompt, the assembly and functioning of the wheel is substandard. The splash guard doesn't fit properly. The wheel doesn't have pin holes or pins and it wobbles. The speed is inconsistent, meaning it pulses, making it difficult to pull consistent thickness in the clay walls of any vessel. I purchased this wheel to start teaching my beginner class with, but it may be too difficult even for a beginner. I believe it would only take a few minutes for Quality and assembly to be checked before packing and shipping.
I took it out of the package and can see that the bat pans are not the same color as described on the website. The foot covers are also torn and it is dirty. It ran for a little bit. Then I hit the check once monthly button and it no longer turns on. Really upset. There is no manual with this item, so I cannot troubleshoot.
Arrived and opened today, not only does it have chips/dings in the wheel and damaged area of the base, but the brief instructions I recieved are for a different model and don't make sense with this wheel. My main issue so far is that as long as the yellow switch is in "Open" position and the direction switch is in either "FOR" or "REV" the wheel automatically goes to full speed, the foot pedal doesn't seem to do anything. No way to adjust the speed. Haven't tried the attachable basin yet.
When we received the wheel there were no instructions on how to set it up. There were wires that were not connected. Once we had an electrician look at it the wheel went on without pressing on the pedal. We have since returned the wheel.
It's used. Not even kidding. Arrived in the mail, the basin is filthy and marred. There are scratches and dings in the throw wheel. The legs and bottom side of the stand have like juice stains on them. There's dried clay on the tools themselves. Yeah
