Vicks Speed-Read Thermometer with Fever InSight, V912

I don't know why this thermometer is so highly rated. I have to keep restarting the thermometer 3-4 times to get the highest temperature reading because it stops reading after 8 seconds even if the temperature is much higher. 8 seconds is not enough to get an accurate reading. Ditching this for an ear thermometer.

Readings are pretty inconsistent - can measure 37,1 and 37,4 right after. But ok, maybe I use it in a wrong way, BUT very quiet beeps - that's definitely not on me.

98.6 cannot be found. Consistent @ 97.4-.7

I bought this and took it out of the box to use it the same day….and it was flashing the battery dead symbol. If I'm paying for a brand new product I expect it to work for a certain amount of time before I'm having to pay more money just to get it to work in the first place. Not impressed!

About 1.0 C higher than hospital thermometers so when it means the difference between going to hospital emerge at 38.4 vs actual temp of 37.4 it is a waste of money. No I didn't have anything hot or cold within 15 minutes of taking my temperature
