I love this so much that I bought a second one! I got it for the super dry, desert-like air in Colorado. My husband recently developed eczema and the climate here makes it worse, so we decided to try humidifiers to help. This thing is great! You just fill it up with water and plug it in. One tank of water lasts the entire day, from morning to night. Afterwards, you will see harmless black flecks in the bottom. Those are just minerals leftover from your water!
ordered for delivery one night while kids where sick. at first it wouldn't blow steam so i added a bit of salt and it worked perfectly after that. strong stream will fill a small bedroom. make sure to clean thoroughly between each use i noticed helps with maintenance of it. steam is Hot and the top gets hot so be careful kids dont touch it! kinda big wonky shape so have an entire nightstand to place it on.
I bought this 3 years ago and I love it. I ordered another one just to review it because a lot of these reviews are very misleading. First of all, it has a carbon filter, so that causes the black flakes that people are losing it over. It's completely harmless. As I said, mine is three years old and still working fine, so it doesn't effect the filter either. If you overfill it or add too much salt, it might spit water, otherwise, that has never been a problem for me. The carbon filter reacts to adding salt so you'll get steam if that is an issue. Sometimes I have to add two tablespoons of salt, sometimes I have to add none. It emits a sound at a very low level, and sounds like bubbling water, so I find it relaxing. I plug this in around the end of September and leave it plugged in almost nonstop until around April. The plug has never once gotten hot. I can't stand changing filters or daily cleanings (I clean it every few days with vinegar), so this is perfect. It's not the prettiest humidifier but it's the best one I've ever owned. I recommend it to everyone and give them a heads up about the way the filter works. I wish people would learn how a product works before giving it a bad review.
Best humidifier I have bought so far! I've slept better since the first night I plugged it in. My sinuses were so dry they were actually keeping me up at night. Glad I choose the vicks one!
instructions say to add salt if it doesnt mist after 5 minutes, it also says after so many uses you dont have to add sdalt, but i have found that i have to add salt everytime. it works well but there should be a drain plug to help get all the water out.
Everything was as described. Nothing wrong with product. The only reason I didn’t give all five stars is because they could have used a cord with an on %26 off switch. It made it inconvenient and impractical to unplug the electrical cord just to turn it on/off EVERY SINGLE TIME. I had to set it up on a dresser and the plug was behind the big heavy furniture, so I struggled to get behind the big furniture just to plug it in or pull it out and it’s NOT recommended to use an extension cord. I did notice some soot inside the bottom and it could have been my water, so I had to clean it out after every use. It did do its job and provide moisture in the air to help with sinuses having stuffiness. I don’t have kids, but recommend keeping it away from them, because it will be easy to burn themselves or top it over. I filled it up and it lasted through the night, so it’s a one night use, so you’ll have to refill it every day. I recommend keeping it on a towel or keeping a towel close by, because you will get stuff a little or a lot wet.
Mine overheated and melted! It did help with my cold but I no longer feel safe using the vaporizer. I have allergies and sinus problems and at the time was sick, but after only three days of use there is black stuff in the water and burn marks on the offshoot where the mist comes out.
A couple things about this product the mist is so intense that you would have to keep the door open, which I feel like we would defeat the purpose. and the mist was so intense my fire alarm kept going off It was more of just a headache than anything
First of all the humilfier is HUGE! Takes up a lot of space. Bealy to no mist even with salt upon salt. Doesn't have the option to turn the night light off. Would not recommend. Get the Fida Baby humilfer instead. Little costly but works 100% better than this scrap. 🙄
OMG this thing is impossible to use! Takes a lake to fill it and is very heavy and awkward to place safely. It took multiple "pinches" of salt to get ANY steam and then after HOURS of trying it rattled and hummed to produce meager steam for 20 munutes then turned off. The dam light can't be turned off The bizarro tub design renders it incapable of being drained. D0 NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!
