The best paper towels most absorbent, and I would not like to use anything else

I think the manufacturer of Viva paper towels changed how their paper towels are made. I've been purchasing Viva paper towels for a very long time, because they have been more like a cloth towel than any other brand, but I started noticing a problem within the last 18-24 months. They have become inconsistent when tearing individual towels from the roll. They'll tear away with part of the towel staying attached to the roll, or the towel you're tearing away will bring part of the next towel with it. I know that nothing I'm doing has changed. I'm using the same technique, so there's definitely something different about the paper towels. I recently attempted to change how I'm tearing towels away from the roll, and repositioning the roll, but the inconsistent results are the same. They simply don't tear like they used to. I still think they're a better paper towel than other brands, but I can no longer give them a perfect 5 star rating.

More like Bounty than Viva. I will not buy again. This was a substitution as they were out of Viva. They are not a bad paper towel but we like the softness of Viva.

I will stick to the original Viva, these are hard.

Why only a 2-star rating? No square footage posted / disclosed on any images of the various package choices of Viva Multi-Surface Rolls displayed in postings on Walmart's website. Why?? The quality and value overall of the product is great primarily because virtually all other brands leave lint residue but the ridiculous prices for the myriad of Viva paper towel options are ever-increasing as are the packaging options thanks to marketing geniuses trying to obfuscate quantities and pricing. Tired of this game. Would give it 5 stars based on quality if the crazy prices were fair and more stable. If still 297 sq. ft. total for a package of 6 double rolls, historically $1.40 per double roll, not almost $2 per double roll. That's $8.40, not $11.50. And 6 triple rolls, if still 445 sq. ft., should be under $13. Hoping this helps other consumers.
