Shipping was faster than expected. Overall quality of the tv was absolutely phenomenal. Went from an old E series I had from 2017 and honestly, didn't really have any expectations. Probably one of the nicest tvs I have ever had. Was contemplating spending the money on an OLED but I am so glad I didn't. Extremely happy with the specs on the tv and gaming is amazing.
I listen to The Tech Guy on the radio. This TV was recommended as a good quality TV. The Vizio has a large number of local dimming zones, which makes the blacks more black. It's about as good as you can get without getting an OLED TV. I also like that it has Dolby Vision (High Dynamic Range), something the Samsung TVs don't have. We purchased one Vizio TV and liked it so much we bought a second. This is a great TV, a good choice without spending a lot of money.
I'm not a real tech geek but I like the features and all the options with this smart tv. I'm still exploring and finding new programs. The picture is clear and has a lot of tuning capabilities as far as hues and colors. My only disappointment is no written instructions. I'm old fashioned and wouldn't mind a instructions otherwise I'm flipping back and forth between on screen instructions and controls. The white glove delivery service delivered on time and the delivery People were nice and helpful with setting up.
The picture is good, as good as most in this price range, but the software is lacking. The remote is a take off on the FireTV remote, and just doesn't have enough buttons for a tv. Even the on-screen manual calls out for you to push the info key here or some other key there, and they don't exist. I'm still trying to move apps around on the screen... Just doesn't seem well thought out, like it was an exec decision to throw in the voice remote and the engineers had to scramble. Android screen mirroring works well through the Google Home app though, and casting works very well.
This is a good tv. Not as good as Samsung, which is what I replaced. I don't like the remote. No numbers, which makes it harder to navigate. I have a soundbar connected. It is hard to turn the tv off. I don't know if it is the tv or the soundbar but one default to turning the tv back on. I hate that my tv is on when I am not using it.
Delivery was several weeks late, but the P65Q9-J01 tv worked fine on startup. 30 days in - the picture is great with all connections except cable (aspect ratio/picture mode), but haven't tried too hard to resolve that. Haven't tried antenna yet. The smartcast menu has frozen up a few times - frustrating but not a deal breaker, yet. The smartcast/streaming functions are really good and there's a LOT of stuff available. The smartcast app icons can be arranged for easier access to your preferred streaming channels. This next part of the review is subjective (and a-n-a-l) but it is what it is. It seems trivial, but the remote is tedious, and you never realize what an important part of the experience it is, until you want another tv for no other reason than to flip between certain channels. This model has minimal buttons and takes time to cursor around the on-screen menu to move between specific channels, info, menu, etc. So no jumping back and forth between two channels - the ‘back' button ain't that - you may miss that play. No, I do not use voice control. So, I download the remote app to my phone - better. Then notice the little remote icon on the app, and there it is - the remote I want to make my tv watching effortless. The all important one touch ‘previous', ‘info', ‘menu', and a numeric pad for quick, manual punch in. But I don't want to unlock and use my phone to operate a tv at home (I know, Waah). So back online and the remote simulated on the app is available - for $20. 🙄 I'm just thankful this is all I have to complain about today. Life is good, and I gotta go watch my big tv.
Freezes way too much or just doesn't respond. I've had to unplug it multiple times to reset itself. It also integrated itself into my digital antenna through Vizio Watchfree I use to pick up local channels and has somehow caued it to not work properly compared to before. Other than those few headaches, its a good TV.
I really wanted to like this tv per the Rtings positive review. But sadly, I did not. The picture was just 'ok'. I adjusted picture settings and got things better, but never to my liking for Vizio's top level quantum tv. I do not like the stand/feet, it was a little wobbly, and is not pleasing to the eye like so many others tv stands. The remote is small and gets confused with the firestick remote. I never felt at home with this tv.... so I sent it back. I then ordered a TCL 65r646, which was much, much better out of the box (and over $100 cheaper). I have not had to adjust ANY picture settings. This was my 2nd attempt at a Vizio tv, and the 2nd one I had to return. I will not be purchasing any more Vizio products. They just have not stepped up their game to match the competition.
These smart cast tv's are really frustrating. It regularly glitches out while watching tv it will buffer over and over (my other tv's don't do this so it's not my internet), even after you setup your app order, it moves them around once a week or so, putting an app you don't use up front so you'll give it a try. The Sling app won't allow you to pause live TV, although Roku apps will let you pause live Sling TV. I also use a Bose sound bar and after I've already scrolled down to the app I want to watch, it throws me into an advertisement to download the Bose Music app. I have to back out of the advertisement and scroll back through the rows of flashing advertisements to get back to the app I was just selecting…ughh… it's just really user un-friendly and frustrating to use …I just want to watch tv on select apps with no extra apps or advertisements and to have a steady stream that doesn't buffer regularly.
I am pretty sure it's a good TV, but I bought it twice and every time it came with the screen cracked. It's a very big and heavy TV and looks like it's not handled properly by Walmart or FedEx personnel
