This thing is awesome!

Tickitinda August 29, 2025

This thing is awesome! I can grow enough to last me and it takes up very little space.

Great Sprouter

Anonymous May 9, 2022

Ordered and received this sprouter in a timely fashion. Filled with seeds according to simple directions supplied. Watered sprouts two/three times a day until the seeds sprouted and were ready for eating which took about 4-5 days. Great sprouter especially if you want to sprout different types of seeds.

I had one of these for a bunch of years. It had a tendency to tip over a lot and it only had one hole for drainage. This one is perfect. It's very sturdy and easily stackable. My favorite features are the multiple tiny holes throughout each tray. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who likes gardening.

Great Starter Kit!

Johanna G July 20, 2020

I have been sprouting for a few years but needed some new trays, these were great! I didn't necessarily need the seeds but they'll always get used and, if you're looking to get started for the first time this comes with everything you need to get started!

My own little farm on the 11th floor

Bart B Van Bockstaele June 12, 2025

As an old bachelor, getting fresh vegetables in quantities that do not require a walk-in freezer is not always easy, especially not if some variety is desired. My idea was that sprouting could turn commonly available seeds into vegetables without crashing the market or overfilling the freezer. This sprouter does that almost perfectly, in quantities that are easy to handle. I only bought it mere days ago, but I have sprouted mung beans, lentils, wheat, radish, clover, alfalfa and mustard seed. Mung beans are the very best by far so far. One tray gave me 200 g of sprouts with a mere 35 g of mung beans. There is next to no work involved: all you have to do, is put some seeds (not too many!) in the trays, pour water in the top tray, wait for 12 hours, pour away the water in the bottom catch tray, and pour in another half liter, wait for 12 hours, repeat until the sprouts are the desired size and then cook them (or eat raw) like any other vegetable. The only (slight) downside I have found so far is that small seeds can get stuck in the draining holes. That can be remedied by presoaking them before putting them in a tray. It isn't even invonvenient: you have to water the top tray anyway, so letting the seeds for the top tray soak (and swell as a result) before pouring is no inconvenience at all. The results are great. Vegetables can hardly be any fresher than straight off the tray. I have two Victorios so far, and am planning on buying two more. That should give me a few hundred grammes of vegetables every single day: grocery shopping is now largely optional. A time saver!

Great, with a little modification

CabingalSouth April 9, 2020

This works great, but I would suggest separating the trays once the sprouts are growing to prevent mold. Water them together, then separate so they get more air. I had some mold start in one tray. Best system I've found for growing enough sprouts though.

Victorio 4-Tray Seed Sprouter

JGascho January 16, 2022

Personally I've had more success with my Biosta 3-level sprouter. Not real fond of the drainage system on this Victorio sprouter. My Broccoli, Radish and Lentils turned rotten. I did have success with the clover and alfalfa though, and the fact that you get free starter seed kits is a bonus. I also do like the plastic that Victorio uses compared to the Biosta. Biosta trays are larger, which I like. But despite lack of success with some of the seed types, I would actually give this unit a 3-1/2 star rating.

Can't recommend it

Jane February 1, 2025

I had high hopes for this sprouter, but, it disappointed me. Prior to this tray sprouter, I used Mason jars with excellent results and expected the same. The same seeds and same amount in this tray sprouter resulted in about half the sprouts compared to a mason jar. The sprouts in the first tub image are from a mason jar. The second tub image are from this tray sprouter. I'm returning it and will go back to sprouting in mason jars.

Not as good as advertised

Steve February 19, 2024

Having used it for a couple weeks, it doesn't really produce the quality and growth of sprouts as a jar. Smaller seeds (alfalfa, sandwich mix) will pass through the holes in the tray. Not a lot but annoyingly since they will plug the hole after expanding a bit. I followed the directions precisely and I found that using the recommended seed volume, returned very few sprouts. I think there was a low percentage of germination. There appeared to be too much water around the seeds. Did a side-by-side growth starting the same day, putting broccoli seeds in Victorio tray and seeds in my sprouting jar. What a difference. After 5 days I had broccoli sprouts in my jar ready to eat; Victorio tray was just starting to get underway and no where near ready. Plus I noticed that a larger percentage of the seeds did not germinate compared with those in the jar. These seeds came from the same bag, so it wasn't a "bad seed" problem. Same room temperature same, rinse cycle for each. I liked the concept and you can grow sprouts, but took a lot longer with fewer sprouts. I'll return this and stick with my jar(s)

Smells bad

Yargo February 1, 2018

The instructions say that if you use the lid you might cause mold but even without the lid my sprouts smell like dead fish. I wouldn't think that is safe to eat raw. I have had much much much better success just using a mason jar with some plastic mesh.
