This Wagner Control Spray Double Duty Sprayer solved all the problem I experienced with previously owned Wagner sprayers, the problem of spilling paint while holding the filled paint reservoir in one hand and with the other hand trying to screw power unit on to it. This unit was completely redesigned so it only requires a 45 degree swing to attach power unit to the filled reservoir. It has a 48 ounce reservoir so you don't have to refill so frequently and the volume control and spray pattern are so superior it defies any comparison to previous models. I bought it to stain some cedar siding shingles on my house, I first tried my old Wagner Project Sprayer and it was a disaster, but when I used the new sprayer it was unbelievable easy, hardly any overspray, no dripping it actually made the project an enjoyable activity.
I love this item. I used this on my walls took lot less time to do and also evenly spreaded across. I also used it on my floor to stain and gloss them with no problem at all. I would d highly recommend this for anyone to purchase. The picture below is rough draft you can say wasn't quite finished with everything. Keep in mind I'm a beginner.
It's messy. You have to thin the paint and you have to be very, very careful about cleaning it up when you're done for the day, but the bottom line is it works and it works well.
I have been spraying Flood stain on my fence, I have tried the brushes and the rollers. I should have bought this sprayer to start with I did not even have to thin out the stain at all and it goes on perfect!!!clean up took less than 5 minutes.
We gave this sprayer a real work out on a large deck. The most important factor that we found is consistency. Keeping the sprayer at the same distance from your work surface and moving it at even strokes gave us the best performance. It was a bit windy and that added another factor that we needed to adjust for. We used a stain/sealer and it went on nicely. Our deck had not been sealed for nearly five years and it really soaked up the sealer, but not having to continually dip and brush was great. Again, we had to adjust the pressure when we moved from the deck floor to the spindles. It will take some experimentation but the tool was up to the task. we had the unit running continuously for five hours without any problem. Clean up was great with Dawn dish washing liquid and water. It was back in the box and now is ready to do two more smaller projects in the future. Knowing that clean up was so easy makes it easier to get it out for another use.
My project was to spray paint my kitchen cabinet doors. The sprayer worked great. I was using Behr's Premium Ultra Indoor Semi-gloss paint. It is both paint and primer combined. It is very thick so you have to dilute it down quite a bit so the paint will go through the sprayer. I had read that the paint needed to have about a 55 second flow rate through the timing cup provided with the sprayer. In order to get to that number I had to do a lot of diluting. I ended up adding, per gallon, 1 quart of Floetrol, which is pretty thick itself, and 1 quart and 8 ounces of water. That brought me to a 55 second flow rate. That sounds like a lot of water, but you need it with this paint. At that dilution, the sprayer worked great. The finished job (two coats) looks fantastic. There is very little overspray so you do not waste hardly any paint. I was using a light beige colored paint. Even at that dilution, there was not any noticable change in color. I highly recommend the sprayer. However, it is absolutely essential that you get that flow rate down to at least 55 seconds or below. It is also essential that you keep the spray head clean of any paint that may build up during the job. A quick wipe with a soft paper towel did the trick. I simply wiped the spray head after spraying each door. Cleaning the sprayer is quite easy. It should take not more than 10 minutes to clean it and reassemble it.
I was a little hesitant to use a sprayer for my deck as I am true believer in using a good brush to apply stain, but my wife said we should try it as it would save a lot of time. As a smart husband, I said YES!! This project would normally take me a whole weekend. When I used the Wagner Control Spray Double Duty it took me 3 hours to do my project. Awesome!! I would, however, recommend putting plastic on your home or anywhere you don't want stain to go as a slight amount of overspray can occur. Clean up was a breeze! I would recommend this product to anyone looking for great coverage in a staining project, and to save time.
My girlfriend and I bought a house a month ago. We wanted to do few renovations but didn't want to spend a lot of money so we decided to paint the kitchen cabinets that were made of melamine. We also wanted to paint our kitchen table. I started with the kitchen table, trying to paint it with rollers and brushes using a very good primer. Unfortunately, the is so thick that It left a lot of brush marks. Oh what a bad job I did so I decided to sand the mess to make it as smooth as possible and finished with a very good varnish from the company Finitec. It ended up quite nice but what a time consuming and difficult work it was. I anticipated all the work I would have to do to get a nice job with the cabinet doors and I was pretty discouraged about it knowing all the work I would have to do. So I decided to check out on the internet and I came across that sprayer. I bought it without many expectations even if the reviews were pretty good. What a magical thing!! I first primed the doors with it. I used Zinsser cover stain which is VERY thick and leaves a lot of brush marks but with the Wagner control spray, it was chil play. Adjusting the spray, the viscosity with thinner and spraying the doors was very easy and it did a factory job. It went smooth and even. The cleaning was easy and took about 15-20 min. (beeing perfectionnist#. The next day, I sprayed the doors with the color which was Benjamin Moore advance alkyd emulsion. The coverage was perfect, as easy as the primer, the viscosity was very easy to adjust with water and the cleaning even faster ans easier since it was a waterbased paint. I can say that I saved a lot of time #at least 4 X faster) with that sprayer and moreover, did a professional job. I'm a perfectionnist and wanted a perfect job for the cabinet doors and I can say that you can't get better results than this. The cabinets look like new cabinets and the finish is so smooth. I'm planning to do other jobs with the prayer and I think it's the best money I spent in a long time. I've been painting a lot of things with spray cans and brushes and I can say that I never had such good results.
I was using it quite nicely. Results were excellent. But suddenly it stopped spray. I cleaned nozzle and other part well. But it throws air into the container but not spraying paint. I can not understand. If gun will send air into the container then how the paint will come up to nozzle. Please explain working.
If you're looking for a sprayer to never use, this is the right one. If you're looking for a sprayer to paint a fence, move along. I've attached a picture for your reference, but it took me about 3 hours to paint a stretch (half) of fence about 20 feet long. Impossible. I had to stop every few minutes to unclog, take apart, clean, or just investigate the machine to see what was wrong. I could not believe how troublesome and difficult it was to get this sprayer to do the job. I was spraying straight up and down so there was very little tilt or unevenness. The suction pipe kept getting clogged and there's no way to unclog it without taking the whole thing apart and blowing it out. Disappointing.
