Great price , very fast delivery.
worked better than expected
This is a spare part. Haven't used yet.
It worked as advertised, no fuss no muss. ABCDEFGHI
Right out of the box I wasn't sure if the Painteater would decrease my prep time by much or not, might even just eat up the wood. My project prep time using the Painteater was 3 hours. Without it I'm sure it would have taken all day to get the same results using wire brush and scraper. Because of the ease of this tool I did a much better job in my paint removal. Overall I like the Painteater and would recommend to others. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I recently had to repair the textured ceiling in my kitchen due to a pipe leaking from above. I ended up having to replace a section of drywall approximately 2' x 3'. The ceiling had been previously painted so knocking down the texturing with a blade was difficult. Then I used the paintEater.. It worked great! The disc does the work so little pressure is needed. with a little time and trial I was able to feather the area to the new taped joints. After adding the new drywall mud to the repair joints and feathering it to the old it made a seamless repair and ready for the new texture. Another use for this versatile product
I bought a 76 year old frame house with an exterior that had paint peeling, chipping off, bare spots, every imaginable situation. No one had touched the exterior for 25 years. I took to the house first with a pressure washer, then with the PaintEater, then with the Wagner Paint Gun, then the sanders. The PaintEater saved me so much time and effort and was key in removing all the paint and taking it back down to the bare wood. I used it for 1 year (weekends) before the switch for the pad replacement broke. I contacted the company and they sent me not the switch but an entire product. This product was a lifesaver.
I was preparing my house for paint, and after a week of scraping by hand I was wore out so I went online and found this PaintEater, and after reading the reviews I bought one and went to work. I won't say it did all the work because I still had to scrape, but probably 3/4 less had it not been for the PaintEater which worker flawlessly at paint removal and did an excellent job at feathering all the edges. It is a bit heavy after awhile but I guess because it is very rugged, and I'd guess a nearly indestructible tool!
Did not achieve complete paint removal from a 100 year old multiple paint layer set of swinging garage doors but satisfied with the amount removed and surface preparation. Diminishing returns as you increase pressure and a little patience to be considered. We'll see with next project.
I got the PaintEATER because I wanted to refinish some old pine floors that had been covered with linoleum tile. The tile had been glued to the pine floors, and after removing the tile, attempting to sand the floors led to the sanding belts quickly gumming up with old glue. The design of the PaintEATER is superior to that of an angle grinder when working on a floor. With the PaintEATER, it took a few tries to learn how to use the tool effectively. Applying direct vertical pressure just moved the glue around in circles. I found that by tilting the tool very slightly to the left, not applying excessive force, and moving it across the surface from right to left, the old glue would come off in a fine powder. If you are patient, you will find the right tilt and movement, and you will find it doesn't require much pressure to do the job. If you ask someone else to use the tool, they will either find that sweet-spot or they will go through a lot of disks and overheat the tool. The cost of the replacement disks is the major drawback of the tool. Anyone buying this tool needs to know that you will need to buy many replacement disks. The good news is that there is a similar style disk for angle grinders that are made to work with both a key lock and threaded lock. These disks work well on the PaintEATER and are much, much cheaper.
