I accidentally stumbled upon this drive when I needed to back up my Mac mini. At the time prices were already skyrocketing for external storage and this came in clutch at only 60 bucks. Don't be fooled by the name, this drive can be used for chrome books, as well as windows, Mac, and Lennox operating systems. The design is what you would expect, and the hardware gets the job done. If you can find it at an inexpensive price, I would definitely recommend it.
haven't bought a external drive in awhile. But my last WD drive bit the dust after 7 years. So far the new one is doing great. decent transfer speeds and easy-to-use. my old one had built in password protection that came with it . The new one has no real options for security.
This is an Excellent Value, if you need files stored, just in case you need a backup copy due to file corruption, OS re installation or other device issues, With escalating SSD prices doubling since last fall, this was a reasonable fallback option, i think if you need repeated rapid file access this may not be your best choice, but from the capacity per dollar angle it cannot be beaten.
Great price per GB for additional storage. Bought one for a Chromebook (pics %26 videos) and another for Windows 11 rig (Steam storage %26 videos). Both saw it immediately once attached. Windows acknowledged it as NTSF out of the box. No formatting needed. Be sure to connect to your high speed (blue connector) USB port when hooking up for optimal data throughput! All necessary cables included. Powered via USB so no additional power adapter is required/included.
I needed more space for my music collection as my 2018 Mac mini doesn't allow for such things. This little powerhouse filled that space. It's fast and the massive amount of space at a low cost was awesome! I couldn't ask for more. A small package from a highly reputable company. A must have!
I needed to back up onedrive photos from 2004 to date. I was tired of paying for cloud storage monthly. Got these backed up, then backed up my google cloud (which im keeping bc family plan is better imo) Anyway, still lots of room left on hard drive to continue to back up photos. Works fine with my hp laptop from 2021.
I couldn't believe the price for a good quality Western digital 2 terabyte hard drive I mean $55 everybody else was charging $90 almost double for the same thing. and it was brand new I don't know how they did it plus it included shipping. do I recommend it? I don't know how I couldn't I mean at least if an external hard drive is what you're looking for
Overall, at this point, I'm satisfied. There was hicup initially, maybe because it was for a chrombook and I'm using it with a PC. I got some info from an A.I. engine which put me on the right track. The biggest hurdle will be its longevity. Time will tell.
Came with an open box and broken cover. I'm guessing someone tried to shuck it, realized it's a WD20JDRW Native USB drive, and returned it. I ran smartctl and badblocks, and the drive itself seems OK, so it's good enough for my purposes (cold storage, not traveling, otherwise I'd return it immediately) One note though: this is a Native USB drive, so you can't use a SATA connector if the usb port fails, so use at your own rick.
This older style drive is still very efficient for what I need. It is small and compact and I have never had ANY problems using these WD 2 TB HDD drives. I have been using them for years and the price is great compared to other online sellers. A great deal on an excellent item! The delivery process was a nightmare, however. I ordered this item online as “delivery from store” First of all, the website did not inform me that it was pulled from a Walmart store 30 miles away from me. Secondly, they didn't inform me that they use a third-party driver company called Spark. That company puts out bids for the delivery to their independent drivers. Someone accepted the assignment yesterday and changed his mind at the last minute because it was a 60 mile round-trip. Walmart also did not inform me that these drivers can be incentivized if I include a large tip. Then they charged my credit card even though no one accepted the driving assignment for over 24 hours. They also have a policy that if they can't find a driver within 4 days, they will just put the item back on the shelf. Or I can drive 60 miles round-trip to pick it up myself. After several phone calls, I got Walmart to batch this delivery in with several others in my area.
