Protection from high grill heat is necessary especially when grilling vegetables on a grate.

Excellent design for cooking, comfort and safety.
Long mitts perfect for forearm protection, thumb is flexible to nimbly handle hot and heavy cooking pots and pans (eg cast iron griddles, fry pans). Very high quality sewn mitt and clever elastic gathered cuff.

Mitt didn't protect my hand. 3rd degree burn
Don't use it for anything hot! I burnt my skin THROUGH the mitt.

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN
I bought these along with the most-excellent Weber 4-burner propane BBQ. I LOVE the BBQ. The gloves however, are a chilling disappointment. I say "chilling" because I have found them useful for only one thing: Fake hands on our front yard snowman. Why? because these gloves burned through at the fingertips on first use. I grilled up some salmon at 400 degF. While carrying the finished grilling platform into the house with one hand the glove fabric/stuffing failed and passed the job to my hand. Ouch! DO NOT buy these gloves. DO NOT even accept a free pair.
