As I said earlier, we are very satisfied with Walmart, PLEASE STOP USING FEDEX
Had it for a few days before using it for something different than I expected. My granddaughter had a strap on her book bag that was fraying really badly. She was having a tough time cutting it with a pair of scissors. She would start cutting it, and it would just start fraying again. I put one of the flat tips on the soldering gun and it cut off the fray while melting the cut end to keep it from fraying again. Workdd like a dream. disaster afirtted. I did eventuality did use it for soldering, and it worked great. I had been trying to do some wire repair with an old soldering iron, it just wasn't getting hot enough, fast enough. I had worked on it for about an hour and doing nothing but getting frustrated. Enter new soldering gun! BAM, done in like 15 minutes. Would recommend.
Excellent quality and the best price also. Fast shipping
This is the one soldering gun to buy. It is well built, heavy duty and has over twice the Watts as most of the others on the market. As with everything you can buy at Walmart this is the best price anywhere for the best soldering gun around. Thank you Walmart. Oh this is not made in China.
Is definately poorer quality than one I bought in the 70s insides rattle around a lot made in mexico. Haven't used it much yet but seems to work ok
Very disappointed in this solder gun .big and heavy but takes forever to heat back to a simple torch . Trigger pressure is very heavy . Should have known it's the same as 50yrs ago couldn't pull trigger then now I'm old man still can't pull trigger hahaha oh well probably last forever .
I had the 100/140 watt version of this gun that served me well for over 40 years until I dropped it and the housing shattered. I had hoped that this one would be as good, but I am disappointed in the quality. The case is nice, although I don't really have need of it. The workings of the gun are loose inside the housing which makes it difficult to keep the tip aligned with the work to be soldered. The handle is tiny and very slick, making it hard to hold. The soldering tip was not tightened in the gun so it didn't heat up. I remembered the instructions for my old gun mentioning that the tip needed to be periodically retightened, and sure enough the set screws holding the tip in were not even finger tight. The trigger is counterintuitive in that the first position is the high setting and pulling it all the way back is the lower wattage position. The instruction pamphlet is tiny and impossible to read without a magnifier. Weller's quality has gone down hill, but they are the only higher wattage soldering guns that I found at a reasonable price.
Poor quality from a well know company. The lights did not work. I had to take the gun apart and found that the bulbs were not tight. While trying to tight them one broke. I had to find new bulbs that worked. Now they are loose again. This gun is a piece of junk.
I have used it twice and now it wont work. How to i get it replaced?
The red trigger switch is a piece of junk- Where's the 'detent'? Why does this Journeyman Electronics Repairman have to "hunt" for the correct power on position and often failing while the tip gets cold again? Weller should be ashamed to put their name on this frustrating tool. Refund PLEASE!!!
