Though the frame is made of plastic, it is rigid enough and stable enough to handle thick glossy inkjet photo paper. I like that it has two cutters. One can be kept on each end and selected depending on the position of the work. At first, I looked at the blade-type guillotine paper cutters but decided that the flat type is more compact and easier to store. It works just as well as the bulky old cutters we remember from school albeit with a 15-20 stack of paper or one really thick glossy photo page instead of the 50 or so those huge old bladed machines could do.
I've had several desktop paper cutters as a teacher. They're very important to me. This is the first time I've actually ever been pleased with one this cuts cleanly it stays sharp. It's really well-made.
Just as described , perfec
The cutter works wonderful....no problems at all with cutting different types of paper.
This is a very nice cutter except for one thing. If you are cutting 12 x 12 papers, the cutter blade does not go all the way to the top of the page. the scorer blade blocks it from being able to go all the way to the end.
I really liked that the cutting guide arm lifts up. Many other rotary cutters don't do this. But after using it for a bit I found several things that I don't like, so I'll be returning this item. 1) The cutting guide edge doesn't line up with the blade groove. So where you're supposed to line up the edge of your paper is not evident. I made several wrong cuts before I realized this. 2) There are NO instructions included. 3) Worst of all, the board width is oddly just short of 7.50 inches, and if you extend the arm to compensate, there's a big gap between that point and the 8 inch marking on the arm - exactly where I'd need to line up my custom pages!
This cutter sticks when opening to insert paper. The blade doesn't cut through a whole sheet first cut.
Westcott Carbo Titanium Wide Body Paper Trimmer – $21.97 Pros: Lightweight and compact • Carbo titanium blade is sharp and clean when it reaches the cut Cons: Blade sits inside the measurement line—misses the last inch of the cut • Measuring is awkward and imprecise • Base feels flimsy; paper slips while cutting • Plastic clamp doesn't secure paper—should be weighted • Overpriced for what it offers My Experience: Tried this on a craft project for kids Valentines parties and ended up more annoyed than productive. The blade placement stops short of a full cut, and the paper kept shifting no matter how carefully I lined things up. The clamp is just thin plastic—not enough to hold anything steady. I needed reliable cuts and instead got half-finished frustration. Bottom Line: Not worth the price. Might work for occasional light use, but if precision and ease matter to you, keep looking. **I always appreciate honest reviews—so here's mine, please let me know if it helps you too.
Does not cut a full 12 inches. It only cuts 11 and 7/8 inches.
Does not work. Hard to cut a one inch strip. Feels cheap, blade hit or miss.
