Nice strainer for the kitchen sink, especially compared to the mesh one it is replacing. It is easier to clean and won't warp. This one may let slightly bigger food bits through than mesh, but it's the bigger food bits that I am concerned about anyway and the mesh gets so gross. Nice fit in my standard sink drain, only time will tell how it holds up but it looks sturdy.
These little gadgets are great, ready to throw away the baskets that came with my new ss sink last year. They were always closing while running water so then I would turn them sideways but that allowed more food particles to go down the drain. Last year I had my garbage disposal removed as the list of what could be put down was shorter than what not to. Don't miss it at all. These baskets catch more food and look great. Hubby even commented how well he likes them. I was concerned he might not be able to lift them out, having such short fingernails. But no problem just slide them to the left a little. No sharp edges, well made and clean up with a little soapy water. I use a sink/tub stopper when I want to have a sink full of water. (See picture) I was afraid the rim would hold water back in the sink not draining properly but no problem. Just wash them good with soapy water. Even came a few days earlier than promised. 2 is a better buy than just 2.
The price can't be beat and in this case you get probably more than you pay for. That said I would also comment that the photographic representation of the product is a bit misleading in term of the screen material. It looks like a piece of sheet aluminum with perforations (exciting!) but unfortunately it's a metal mesh like in a faucet aerator. Functional but harder to clean. Also the edges of the beveled perimeter are really sharp because they are so thin. I would advise caution when handling.
The item that I received was much different than the picture that appeared on your website. The strainers are very shallow and do not fit very well. The picture shows strainers that have mesh portions to trap food waste to keep it from going down the drain. The strainers that I received have small holes punched into the steel portion of the strainers that fits into the drain opening. They are just not very functional.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I removed these things from the packaging. They looked like someone took them out of their kitchen after years of use, washed them up, and put them up for sale.
This is not the product that you will receive. Garbage mesh screen not drilled steel holes. Crap product and it's a bait n switch. Sharp edges will cut your fingers. Fake advertising. Fake product photos. Do not waste your money. Buy elsewhere.
picture is VERY misleading. I ordered this product because it looked like the heavy duty drain strainer that I already have. The actual product looks NOTHING like the picture. Flimsy and cheaply made. It is not what I thought I was ordering.
What is in the picture is not what you get. The picture shows stainless steel where the drain holes are. What you get is a mesh screen and it's sharp edges. Very disappointed to me that is false advertising. Not happy at all.
The product had a screen in the drainer. The photo was stainless steel with small holes. I would not have purchased if I had known they were not as pictured.
It's not the same as the ad on the listing you get totally different ones disappointed after waiting so long you don't get what you paid for.
