I bought this as a Christmas present and it hasn't been opened yet but it appears to be as stated when I ordered it. Once it's opened, I can edit the review to make it more comprehensive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I routinely have the need to cut up cardboard boxes and flexible plastics. I bought this tool in hopes it would give my wrists & hands some relief and I couldn't be happier with the product. Besides being extremely handy it's easy to hold and operate and made with the quality I've come to expect from Worx. I would highly recommend adding it to your tool box..
I bought this for my wife to cut craft material. She love it! She uses it to cut wrapping paper, cloth and more. Worked flawlessly on 3/8 inch cardboard.
I could not ever go without this tool ! I use it almost daily. I do receive a lot of packages/boxes. It just makes it almost fun to break boxes down. I NEVER thought I'd EVER say that. I use it to open those hard plastic packages. I use it to cut cloth material. Let's just say. I use it for anything that needs cut. I love this tool! But then, I love ALL Worx products!
We pulled all the carpet and pad in our home in order to restore the wood floors. I bought the 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors in order to cut the carpet into strips, that I then rolled up and carried away. They were amazing, much better than I would have expected. The charge would last long enough to do about 200sq feet, and by the time I had rolled that amount, it was recharged and ready to go again. I have been in residential Construction all my life, and I have remodeled several houses by my self, I wish I had known about the 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors years ago. I Highly recommend this product.
Found a great video on youtube comparing this Worx model against 23 other similar products. No, this didn't come out on top, but it doesn't cost $159.99 either! The Worx model came in 3rd. Second place was priced at $90. The tool comes out of the shipping box already assembled. It took about 2 hours for the initial battery charge. This device has a safety shield that protects against most accidents. The shield will sometimes snag on a box corner. When it has a clear cutting path, however, it glides through cardboard like butter. Sorry for the cliche. The manual says it has self-sharpening blades. I haven't used it long enough to test that claim.
I have been a customer of WORX for several years. Most of my tools hanging on the wall are WORX. My recent purchase of the ZipSnip is great. I've had a pile of cardboard that needed broken down. The ZipSnip was a valuable tool to cut the cardboard with ease. Looking forward to my next WORX product
I bought this to make it easier and faster to break down the big pile of cardboard I'd been accumulating. Getting it all in the recycling bin meant hours of slow, dangerous work with a utility knife. This little sucker got me through the pile in an hour.
Im still trying to get used to it and how to hold it to get it to work properly. im left handed, but I dont know if that matters. To get it to do anything you press one side button and pull the trigger with the other hand which is a good feature to have for safety. I bought it to use on cutting down boxes and I did use it on the shink wrap wrapper on the boxed Gatorade and it worked great!! To get it into position to cut you must slide the "saw" part over the edge and then press the buttons to get it to work. Like I said Im still trying to use. If I decide to return it, I still can.
The blade isn't very sharp and struggles to cut through large pieces of cardboard. Even when fully charged, it moves slowly rather than quickly, making the cutting process take longer than expected.
