Besides being a superior product, the 40 ounce Party Bag offers the most economical way to purchase this product. York offers several sized patties in various weight packaging classes, including a 25 pound case, but my research has determined this is the best way to get it. Combined with Walmart's free shipping (over a certain dollar amount), makes the transaction easy & satisfying. The bags arrived ahead of their estimated due date, & the cases & candy bags were completely intact & undamaged. My thanks to Walmart for offering these items @ reasonable rates.
I am a York peppermint pattie fiend and the bag and price at Walmart cannot be beat. Product is always fresh and I never buy any where else except Walmart.
2013 was my first Halloween (as an adult) living in a place where the kids do trick-or-treating. So: I ordered tons of candy (very cheap here online), and basically I ordered one package of every variety of candy bar available - because as long as I was ordering candy, something I normally never purchase, I wanted to see which candy bar tasted best. Some varieties were new to me since they were not made when I was young enough to trick-or-treat! I compared these (in order of my rating): - York Peppermint Patties - Milky Way - PayDay - Nestle Crunch - Three Musketeers - Take 5 - Baby Ruth - Mr. Goodbar - Butterfinger - Twix - Mounds - Almond Joy - Snickers - Snickers Almond - 100 Grand - Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate - Hershey's Cookies & Cream - Halloween (White Chocolate) Kit Kat - Heath I found that my tastes have *mostly* not changed since childhood. I was surprised at the taste of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate, which I have tasted recently and which seems to taste much *less good* than it did just a few weeks ago. Perhaps the flavor is seasonal, or perhaps they recently altered the formula? Also, the Snickers bars seem heavier and less pleasant-tasting than I remember (though in this case my memory is several years old). The Nestle chocolate was, in general, superior to the Hershey's, so bars that are mostly chocolate did well for Nestle and poorly for Hershey's. PayDay was surprisingly good (joke name - it's mostly peanuts - and to be honest, I'd rather have just the peanuts, that's what made it taste so good). Conclusion: I was pretty surprised to discover that my tastes in candy bars have not changed much in 40 years. York Peppermint Patty is still the best, Milky Way still second-best. Good stuff if eaten in moderation!
If you like a rich smooth chocolate and it covers the peppermint candy that melts in your mouth, you must of bought York brand, they are the best, cheaper is not better.
Great low fat snack if you can limit it to one or two and day.
Still the same Great YORK peppermint taste.....BUT out of every 5 patties at least one and times two or three were smashed. letting the inside filling drain out all over the patties and the wrapper making them very sticker and hard to unwrap.
I eat a lot of Peppermint Patties. Too much, really, but there's nothing as cool and minty as one right out of the refrigerator. No other similar mint I've found can compare. My only complaint is that the last two times I ordered the 40 ounce bags from Walmart, I was sent packages that were past their use-by date by 1 month. I was running low and used them anyway without noticing a difference in taste but I expect to receive fresh PP's when I order them. Otherwise, this would be a 5-star rating.
I didn't receive the mints until 3:30 pm and they were all melted, I guess from sitting on the truck all day before delivery. I put them in the refrigerator right away. If I want a piece of candy it takes awhile to unwrap it. Jocko
I ordered several bags of candy for the office break area. When I received these bags 4 days after the expected delivery date, I found too late that there was massive melting of the product, making the product totally worthless.
Bag open and taped shut. Empty individual wrappers inside.
