I'm always looking for new stem and science projects to incorporate into our homeschool curriculum. We've done crystal grows before, but it takes it to the next level when you do it on a form. The unicorn is fun and colorful. All ages of my children 2-8 enjoyed this one. I would highly recommend this set.

We're always looking for fun new projects to do with 4 kids. This unicorn crystal growing kit was a great experiment for them to incorporate some science in their play. The kit was pretty easy to complete. My older kids, ages 11 and 9 did most of it themselves with supervision of me and their 3 year old brother. It was a fun project to watch and see what they created together. If you're looking for some creative play this is a great kit to start with.

My 7 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed this project. But it is quite time consuming. An adult must boil water & make the solution. Then the unicorn must sit in the solution overnight. After it is removed, it must dry before you can paint it. So it took several days since other stuff was going on too. Personally, I thought the crystals would be bigger. But my daughter still enjoyed it.

We followed every instruction carefully, but when we started painting the paint was bleeding through and running through the other parts we painted! Also one of the Christal on the unicorn broke off just when we put it into the water!
