Your Name. (Blu-ray + DVD CrunchyRoll)

Great twist on the old "body swapping" movies from the 80's ("18 Again", "All of Me", "Freaky Friday"), this slice of life story about two very different teens has a warmth to it seldom seen outside of Disney and Studio Ghibli. As a previous reviewer complained, "it's not for children", I suppose they're right, as this addresses relationships and practical issues a young adult would have to face in this predicament. It can be hard to wrap your head around at times, and some of the Japanese cultural norms are confusing to the uninitiated. Still, there's no blatant nudity or other such concerns. There are the awkward moments where the characters realize they aren't in their own skin anymore, but it's played up for comedic effect. The story twists and changes focus in various ways I won't spoil here, but the progression is challenging and enjoyable to follow. The scenery, writing, character development, and story arc are so far beyond what we're used to seeing even in live-action films, so try not to take this film for granted or you'll miss something. Even the English dub is done with loving care to preserve every little nuance of the story. Mike Sinterniklaas and Stephanie Sheh did career-best work this time. I haven't been into anime much in the last decade or so, but this movie will make new fans of even those who don't like the genre. Give it a chance to prove why it's the highest grossing and most awarded animated film of this century.

Entertaining, thoughtful, good story/

The English dubbed version of this DVD was very hard to find. The translation, audio, and video were nicely done.

btw it's dubbed and sorry if I over hyped it lol 10/10!!! The plot, the sound track, the animation throughout the entire movie was AMAZING! this is a must watch. it's worth the money and time to watch. the movie will have you on the edge of your couch lol. it's just the type of movie to make you wish it was a full on anime. you're gonna wanna Your Name 2 if there was one *SLIGHT SPOILER* the plot twist is jaw dropping and might break your heart, but the ending will put it together and you might even shared it to tear.

So glad I could get the DVD, saw this anime in theaters a few years ago. it's a very sweet love story, animation is GORGEOUS

Scenes of Japan and especially Tokyo so real! Story is moving, prefer hearing in original Japanese with English subtitles (which this version has!). DVD+ Blu ray very helpful!

This movie was sort of confusing at first. It felt like ut jumped all over the place with the story, but was a good movie overall.
