Good for beginners to learn on or for when you need to cast into a real strong wind and the baitcaster won't — and the drag can handle bigger fish than the 404 . Keep a few around. Can take a beating from kids

Great little fishing reel.
Nice reel, this is the cheapest Zebco reel out there but it works great. I got it for my granddaughter to use and it did great bring in her first fish. This is a great first reel and to use as a backup. You can't find a better reel for around 20 bucks.

Still using my original Zebco 33!
I have used the Zebco 33 reels for over 35 years. They are durable, simple enough for kids and get the job done! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to a clearance issue in the design between the mounting flange and the reel itself. I simply switched poles and took my grandkids fishing!
