These are th best pens and pencils money can buy. They always write extremely smooth. They are very reliable. They are thin and not bulky. I wouldn't buy anything else.

I've been using Zebra products for over 20 years. You had the mechanical pencil. When everyone else only had them in a gift set.

I absolutely love this pencil! It is perfectly balanced. Writes smoothly which is rare for a mechanical pencil and a lefthanded writer. We push pens and pencils around and not drag like a right handed writer. But the 300 and 700 series feels so natural in the hand that it actually relieves a good deal of hand fatigue sometimes associated with writing from the left. I have been a writer since I could write and have filled hundreds of notebooks. However, with the invent of computers, I have turned from my medium paper to computers but have still remained loyal to Zebra 300 and 701 series. I LOVE working tight math problem with the .05mm and give them to my math students as rewards for their hard work, perseverance and dedication to their education, especially in these trying times. For special reward to the one achieving great heights and goals, I give the 701 steel. You should have seen the face on my student when he got all A's, but then he actually cried to get a 701 with lead and eraser!! He loved it until it was stolen. SO, you betch ya, he got another one. :-) I would like to continue the tradition but I can no longer find the 701 anywhere!! My usual place has been out of stock for months now and no other store carries them. I am on a limited income so I would buy them when they showed up. How do I find the stores near me that may carry them? Would love your help in this, but also want to say AWESOME JOB on your designs and quality of all your pencils and pens! Please, please, please, don't change a thing!

Durable, great feel and easy to use.

Works fine. Needs harder lead. Bought replacements 7mm lead at local 99 cent store. Pen has Smooth precise quiet cluck action. Have back up eraser because stock one pretty useless. Quality build nice. People ask to see it. Nice to look at. One of a kind. Don't let it out of your site. Hard to find.... Not in stock at Walmart or staples.. Stores, Very few places. Not found in stores anywhere near me. So, as always Ordered online at Walmart.com...not Amazon...Walmart has best price and had it shipped to on site Walmart at my house for free!!!!!Easy with Walmart.com... No other sellers under Walmart. I only use them and ignore their marketplace sellers. Under Walmart.com because they price match I believe. Hassle free and fairly fast at Walmart. Came a day earlier and I was sent an email it was ready for pick up. For 5 plus change its a really nice pencil and conversation piece.

This is a five star pencil for the way it feels in my hand, the finger grip is excellent - doesnt hurt my skin at all and reduces hand fatigue - but WHY, oh WHY, Zebra won't you make it in a .5? Several other reviewers are asking for it (I'm on knees begging!) but there has been no new model! Please, PLEASE!

this is a great mechanical pencil.

When I initially brought this zebra-701 mechanic pencil, I thought it would be better than the terrible cheap plastic mechanic pencil's In some aspects, yes. the design of the pen is wonderful, with a quite premium shine on it and has wonderful grip. It feels nice to write with it. However, the mechanic pen is quite heavy, way heavier than any mechanic pencil one would normally had beforehand. Furthermore, the writing one produced from this mechanic pencil is dull, and a lot slower to write with compared a to normal wooden pencil. If you buying a mechanic pencil for school, I would suggest to buy a cheaper option, since at the end of the day, you are still using the same type of lead.
