These are the nicest pens. I went to Catholic Schools where you were required to use a fountain pen. The result with this pen is very similar.
These pens are the smoothest writing pens I have tried to date (and I have tried many different brands). The colors are amazing! Well worth the price.
loved them just what I wanted
Writes well and does not cause any smudges as it drys immediately. I would have liked less black ink in the pack.
Great pens. I typically use the Sarasa roller ball pens. I tend to use these pens for art and inking drawings. I have tested dozens of pens and inking. Even custom combinations of inks, nibs, cartridges. Nothing beats Sarasa. The black is a very... super black. Nothing but India Ink even comes close. Flow is outstanding and controllable. With a 0.7 mm, I can typically achieve line widths of 0.3 or less. Despite the ink being low viscosity, I do not have issues with bleed. I can usually produce very fine sharp lines and no bleed through even with the lightest of paper. I do however have problems with smudging if I am not careful. I do tend to run the pens dry fairly quickly as well. But I tend to use them for shading and use them for lots of line work. I'm excited to test the Sarasa Porous Pens. Also, I have a request if this is a forum for such a thing. I also use brush pens, such as and particularly, Pentel FP5M and FRH. Though I tend to use my own ink (Speedball Super Black India Ink). The brushes are not too bad. Just and idea maybe. Keep up the great work!
I am immediately impressed with the Zebra SARASA Gel Pen! I stumbled upon one of these while walking to the library and the exterior just caught my eye. At first I was assuming it was some kind of Brown, or maybe some kind of Red, or some kind of Red/Brown hybrid...like Mahogany(really!, this one was on the tip of my tongue). And so, I decided to search, and Eureka!, I think I'm a fan.
These pens: + offer sturdy construction + offer comfortable grip + do not smear, slush, or plug + dispense ink that dries very fast + offer a smooth writing + dispense constant, consistent ink + offer good contrast between red-pink-purple-wine(brown) + offer good contrast between light/dark green - offer BAD contrast between light/medium/dark blue and blank - offer BAD contrast between dark colors in general
I'm a teacher. I use a 1.0 blue Sarasa for everything. I love the boldness which makes my writing easier for me and others to read. I quit Sarasa for a year because the pens seemed to stop writing before the ink was gone and would skip when writing. I'm trying them again.
Good pens. Purple is the prettiest purple ink I've yet to see. Not as smooth as they claim to be and the blue one goes in and out.
My three star rating is due to the fact that the pens in every colour except the black keep jamming up. They work beautifully for a few lines but then, despite the ink being fresh and full, it fades out and won't write anymore! What can I do to get them going again or avoid this problem? I LOVE these pens and really want to be able to use all the colours but find that aside from the black and sometimes the red or pink they have all had this problem. Pink, green, blue, port, purple etc. It is heartbreaking that I have spent so much money and had to toss out pens because they won't work consistently and I need a pen that works so my work notes are consistent.
