First miter saw I've purchased that was set up perfectly right out of the box. I have bought other much more expensive than this one that were not even close to being accurate without going through and making every adjustment. Plenty of power to cut anything within its capacities and the blade provided.
I LOVE IT !!!. Straight out of the box the preset settings were right on the money. The blade gives a good clean cut. Tore up the carpets on the upper floor and put down a floating interlocking floor. Cutting the base boards is easy and precise. The only thing that could be improved is the dust collection, Recommend using outdoors or in the garage. Would like to see Metabo offer attachments to connect a shop vac. All in All I would Highly recommend this tool !
Right out of the box the miter saw was cutting perfect cuts '90s and 45 I'm very happy so far , hope it stays that way , I'm sure it will , it looks and feels like real quality. No setup required. It has a larger cutting height than other 10 " saws I looked at . That was a plus for trim work. Good price.🙂
Works great for an inexpensive saw! In fact, it worked better! I was not expecting much for the price but needed somethingquicktocompletea project. It did absolutely everything I needed...no problems whatsoever. I look forward to using on other projects in the future.
Appears to be a very nice saw for the typical home owner. Light weight, so I had to lag it down on my miter cart. Cutting thru 2x4s works great, haven't had a chance to really put it to work. I'm sure it will hold up for a long time. This saw replaced my 25 year old heavy Delta compound miter saw, unfortunately it fell off my cart. The new miter saw was priced just right...
This saw is good. Very good when the price is considered. I suggest adjusting it when you receive it. The manual is pretty bad. It does not tell you that the miter is adjusted by loosening (NOT removing) the two screws that the handle you use to rotate is attached by (turn the saw over). Turn the saw back over and, using a square with a 90 and 45 degree angle (a speed square), adjust so that each of the 45 and 90 degree settings are perfect. Then tighten those screws. Next, adjust the little glass you look through so the red line is right on the line for that setting.
Thought I was done needing a miter saw so I passed my Rigid 10” on to my son. A year or two later I found I really could use a mitersaw for projects around the house. The price for saws of brands like Rigid, Dewalt, Milwaukee, etc. were beyond what I could justify, price wise these days. An internet search turned up the Metabo 10 inch miter saw. Never heard of them, but the price was right and I thought I'd take a chance with them. To my surprise the saw was a quality piece, well made, solid and accurate right out of the box. A pleasant surprise. And the price was right.
I am pleased with this miter saw. It cuts well and is very accurate on the angles. I read other reviews about the over torqued blade retainer nut, and found it hard to get the nut to break loose, I did have to use a breaker bar to break it loose. I feel it would be better if you stopped using an Allen head on the nut and went to a regular hex nut. The guard does seem loose, but not dangerous at this point. All in all it cuts straight without problems.
The saw was good for a year, but then the motor started to run slow and make a growling noise. I emailed Metabo HPT twice, and haven't gotten a response.
While I would love to give this miter saw a great review, I simply can't. I purchased it because I was so used to the Hitachi version which has lasted me a good 13+ years. I've had this saw for less than a year, and have only used it a handful of times on 3/4'' pine boards to build birdhouses and the motor is already beginning to fail. Everything I use it there is a strong burning scent and crackling noises coming from the motor. The motor gets very hot and dies out. I'm currently debating on getting it fixed or just going with a different brand all together.
