(2 pack) Blue Runner Foods Shrimp Creole Base, 25 oz Can

It's easy, tasty and worth the value!

I LOVE this base. I tried this for the first time and was hooked. It is SO easy to make. Here is how I add my own touch to it. I usually start with 4 cans. Buy 3 to 4 bags of the meduim frozen shrimp peeled but with tails, 1 can of mild Rotel, and 1 tablespoon of Louisiana Crab Boil Concentrate, any brand of crab boil will do, 1 bag of Zatarains Rice. It has to be Zatarains! Ok, add the 4 cans of Shrimp Creole Base in a big pot and bring to a boil, but watch it and don't scorch it. Add your can of Mild Rotel and the Crab Boil at this time also. While that is heating, open the bags of shrimp, put them in a colander and rinse to unthaw quickly. They are about medium size with tails left on, but the tails are easily removed. Peel and set aside. At this time start your rice. Follow instructions exactly and you will have the most perfect rice you have ever had. Now after about 20 minutes of the base cooking, add your shrimp and cook for about 25 more minutes on a meduim low slow temp. Slow puttering of the Shrimp Creole. When your rice is done and the Shrimp Creole is done, sit down and enjoy this wonderful meal. I sometimes have garlic bread on the side too!

BEST ROUX BASE EVER FOUND

Terrific, we bought it at the Mineola Walmart. My wife put it together this evening for dinner. She added about 1/2 pound of cleaned deveined shrimp and did thicken the stock before serving. Served over white rice one can was enough for two of us.

This item is $7.00 per can at CreoleFood.com. Walmart has the item on their website for $20.35 per can. When I placed my order I discovered that it was shipped from CreoleFood.com. Bottom line, I was ripped off. If I had known it would have been cost effective to order directly from CreoleFood.com. Think about it I paid the cost of 3 cans for the price of one can!!!! So sad to know Walmart ripped me off!!!!

The flavor was simple and unremarkable—not bad, just not what I'd hoped for. I think I might've set my expectations a bit too high for this one.

Awful. Really bad taste. Shrimp creole would be ruined if used in recipe.
