These are great. I bought them specifically with brand Fiskars in mind. Sharp, well made, easy to use. This was just my size too, the smaller the better for me. Although, thru coincidental circumstances I also have the slightly larger pair. Great for pruning plants, dividing chewy dog treats, "opening" some packaging (cringe I know, don't abuse your blades like this if you can avoid it). I don't know if these are made in China now or not, but since the quality construction is still present, I'm pleased with them just the same. Usually, for blades/points, if there is a comparable product made in USA, Germany, UK, I prefer it, but Fiskars is still a good brand for most of their products.
Fiskars are the best on the market for pruning in my opinion, and at a good price point. Just make sure when pruning anything to have a spray bottle of white vinegar with a cloth to wipe them down when transferring them from plant to plant, so no disease spreads. Especially rose bushes.
Very sharp and easy to use, didn't hurt my arthritis like some have done because they weren't very sharp. Used on my rose bush and some small new apple tree branches with great ease.
I rated this a 5 star to begin with because I have purchased Friskars clippers before. I was not able to get outside and use them until today. After this very limited use they will not close all the way or lock. I need a return and refund.
Fiskars are excellent garden products and this snipper is perfect for me! Fits in my pocket so if my hands are needed for weeding or tying I can stow them there till needed again %26 they work as well as more heavy %26 cumbersome snippers.
I would recommend this for light duty, such as pruning roses. I own other larger Fiskar pruners that seem to be made sturdier. The hander on this pruner feels questionable.
For goodness sakes, wait for about 6 months or so, until after I have had a chance to use them. Any recommendations would be only what a governor from California would suggest.
The tool worked for about 10 cuts before the cutting edge started digging into the opposing anvil side. A sharp burr formed and now the cutters do not close more than halfway. The lock is also unusable because of that. Will see what Fiskars warranty is all about.
Poor quality product that broke one the first day and the replacement stoped working well after a day of use as they seem to become dull and possibly misaligned. Too bad as the last set with the orange and black handles lasted 7 years! Definitely worth the extra couple of bucks to get a quality product and not go through the hassle of multiple returns!
I would give this item zero stars if I could. Upon first use, severing a 1/4" diameter stem of a dry but not particularly tough herbal plant, these pruners that presumably should cut 5/8 inch diameter material twisted and failed. A smaller pair previously-purchased in-store was inadequate to the task and broke. We returned it to the store for a refund, but liked the design and comfortable feel of the tools, which carry a reputable manufacturer's name. The first failure could have been "a fluke," but twice is not nice! The pruners are backed by a "Lifetime Guarantee," so we will return this second - larger - pair, as well.
