My chickens seem to like it. It doesn't seem any better or worse than any other chicken feed, but is cheaper than other feed I can get locally or Amazon. I do like the pellets, as the chickens seem to waste less of them than the crumble. As a bonus Walmart deliveres it so I don't have to carry it as far.
My layer hens are picky eaters, so I was thrilled they took to this instantly. It did improve shell quality as well. They were thin but held together okay, now they need a good hit to break open. Yolks are nice and healthy as well with little to no “meat spots”. Happy healthy flock, happy healthy laying. We all appreciate a good food at a good price :)
Wow what a life saver. I had no clue Walmart carries chicken feed. I was out and had no time to go to the grain store. Ordered same day delivery and it was a lifesaver. My chickens don’t normally like layer pellet but they’ve been devouring this brand.
These pellets are a wonderful value! My chickens free range during the day so they just supplement their diet with this feed and they are doing very well and laying a lot of eggs, Have you checked the price of feed these days? This is a bargain and Walmart ships for free. The Walmart delivery drivers are fantastic and they even put these bags in our ATV upon delivery. It is a win win situation!!
This is not the best food I've bought, health-wise. The cons are that it's cheap! Lots of synthetic vitamins mixed into corn and soy. I feel like the hens need supplementation if they eat this all the time: Specifically in fatty acids, herbs, greens, and ferments. But the pros are also, that it's cheap! It's a good balanced feed. The girls lay beautiful eggs with deep orange yolks. They seem full after eating and only a couple of them balk at it. For the price you really can't beat it!
I usually order this online and have it delivered. This actually fits perfectly in my - Buddeez 32 Quart "Bag-in" All Pets Food Dispenser, Holds up to 22 lbs. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Buddeez-32-Quart-Bag-in-All-Pets-Food-Dispenser-Holds-up-to-22-lbs/8958051504?sid=7551ac06-9d6a-46dc-95e0-70588fbfd9f8
Our chickens love this type of pellet food. We mix it with the other food and they enjoy it so much. They have been laying more eggs for us because they are happy with their meal.. we are going to start to subscribe to Walmart delivering this to our home. We love the price and our chickens love the flavor.
Convenient delivery, good quality, and the chickens really do well on it. I’ve been really happy with this layer feed. It’s priced about the same as what I was buying at the farm store, but having it delivered to the house makes a big difference and saves me a trip. The pellets are consistent in size, not dusty or crumbled, and our chickens and ducks both eat it with no hesitation. Since switching to this feed, they’ve stayed healthy and we’ve had steady egg production with good shells and yolks. It’s nice knowing I can rely on it when I’m too busy to load bags in and out of the car. The 40 pound bag lasts a good while and hasn’t had any mold or odd smells. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want something affordable, good quality, and easy to get delivered. Figured I’d share in case someone else is debating trying feed from Walmart instead of the farm store.
I have been pleased with these pellets. My chickens really seem to like them and gobble them up. They are a good size pellet, not too big, not too small. They are good chickens have been laying very well with these so I am happy and so are they.
Surprised to see that I could get chicken feed in Walmart and the price was right I didn't realize it was only a 40 lb bag and not a 50 lb bag which I get at the feed store that's probably why it was cheaper so I thought I would give it a try they ate it no issues
