My husband purchase this for oil changes since we had a smaller unit before. He said this will hold more oil and be easier to dispose of the oil. He liked the shape and size of it. Said it was good quality design. He is happy with the pouring spout and sturdiness of the pan.
this oil container is just what I've been needing. I changed my transmission fluid every 30,000 miles, and engine oil 3,000--3,500 miles. this tank can be taken to a oil drop off place. really makes it simple. tank is well made and it's the best band for the dollar.
I like this drain pan since it is large enough to hold all the oil from my diesel engine. My diesel holds 16 quarts. The drain pan is light weight but sturdy, and it slid easily under my vehicle. It contains a screen to catch the oil drain plug in case you drop it into the pan. After draining my engine, I caped the pan and was able to store the container upright until I was able to find a place to take the waste oil. For most engines you should be able to get two or more oil changes before you need to dump it. The cost of the pan was very low, and I saved a lot of money by changing the oil myself. At 82 years old I still can do routine vehicle maintenance in my driveway. Thanks
there re issues with the drain holes and the oil splashes but it survived being ran over by a checy avalanche. I sealed it up and put it in the sun and it almost poped back into shape. If i was going to be using this in the garage Its a 3 star its messy but on a gravel driveway it works and its cheep.
This drain pan container is priced well, especially when considering its large capacity. I was looking for one that would arrive quickly, had a large capacity, and would be inexpensive. This one fit that list of requirements. When unpacking it, I immediately noticed that the build quality was low. The covers didn't fit well and I was concerned that the item would leak once I used it to drain my transmission, but surprisingly it held up to the 6 quarts (or so) that I had drained into it. It's nicely designed, with a small, closable, vent hole as well as the large drain hole, designed to prevent larger items from falling in, and the large main cover which is used to empty the unit. It was easy to use, and empty, and seems sturdy. It was also easy to pour the oil transmission fluid out into another container due to the large main cover and the handle placement.
The item arrived missing the vent screws. I contacted customer support hoping they would send the missing hardware, but the only solution offered was to return the entire item for a refund. This was very inconvenient and poor customer service for what should have been a simple fix. I would not recommend this seller and suggest looking elsewhere to avoid wasting your time.
I bought this drain pan container hoping it would make oil changes cleaner and easier, but it turned into a complete mess. After draining the oil and securing the main cap, I set it in the bed of my truck. By the time I got home, oil had leaked everywhere from the flimsy, poorly designed cap. Cleaning up that mess was a nightmare and completely defeated the purpose of having a sealed container. On top of that, the vent cap is made of cheap plastic and snapped after the very first use. For something that's supposed to hold used oil safely, this container feels like it was built with zero durability or quality control in mind. If you're looking for a reliable drain pan container, I'd recommend steering clear of this one. Spend a little more on something with a sturdier seal and better construction—it'll save you a lot of frustration (and cleanup).
This drain pan was a complete waste of money, 3 of my 6 quarts of oil landed all over my garage floor. between the splatter and the drain for the oil pan not accepting the volume of oil fast enough the pan overflowed with in seconds. This oil pan is cheaply made and extremely poorly designed.
I don't know who came up with this design, but this pan is really inconvenient. The top part is too shallow, so the liquid doesn't drain properly and tends to splash because of the shallow shape. If the top part were deeper, it would be better. As it is, it's completely useless.
The price was good. It worked great for a drain pan. I was happy with until I capped it off and set it up on end with the old used oil. It left a puddle of oil on the floor. I thought it was user error until I found that one of the seams in the bottom had 1 inch long leak. It made a mess where ever it sat. Good design just poor quality control on the making of the product. I read someone else mentioned the same issue in another review 🫤
