After years of dealing with thistle feeders made of plastic that were hard to clean, I finally decided to change over to using a feeder sock. I bought 2...when I take the empty one down, I have the other already filled and ready to put out. This attracts finches and lesser goldfinches in my yard here in the Southwest. When it gets very windy or rain is in the forecast, I will take it down because it swings and is so light when nearly empty that I can avoid having it blow away or having the seed soaked. I wash by hand occasionally.

These are great for Finch feeding. They're affordable and easy -- and less messy than trying to fill a feeder (which always ends up with a bunch of moldy seeds at the bottom that they don't eat %26 you have to clean it all out.) I always have a couple in stock!

The finches absolutely love the seed in this sock! Sometimes there are 3 or more birds on it at one time. It's easy to use and very economical.

excellent soft bag to just hang in the tree. Very convenient to open and place. The birds tend to consume more in warm weather so more bags will be needed. I recommend this product.

These socks are just right for us and all our birds. It took a few minutes for the goldfinches to figure it out, but once they did, the entire sock was covered in birds. These hold a lot, can be refilled, and are washable - important to help reduce bird flu spread in wild birds clustered at feeders. Any seeds which spill are eaten by birds foraging on the ground. Almost no waste to clean up. Refilling takes some pratice - or help - since the bags are so flexible, but if the birds love them, so do we.

We have tried various other branded thistle seed and various socks. For some reason, our local bird population is quite picky and prefers this pre-loaded thistle sock variety ONLY! Once we put out a new sock or even refill an older sock using the same brand of thistle, it's typically devoured in a week's time.

Functional and good price, but I didn't realize when ordering quite how ugly it would look—definitely one to hang in the back yard, not the front yard, unless you want the neighbors giving you the side-eye

The birds don't seem to like the thistle or nyger seeds. I feel like the "sock" of thistle seeds can't be left out overnight because dampness or rain could make them start sprouting.
