I read all the reviews for three different packages of prunes, but couldn't decide which one to order, so I ordered all three: Sun-Sweet, Sun Maid, and Great Value. I was surprised and pleased to find that they were all three pretty much identical! The one pound packages were each about $6.50, so all three get a five star rating from me!
These are sweet and moist. Very good taste. Needed to add to my diet for the vitamins. Thinking of making a desert with, that will feel like cheating, but won't be. Also going to add to a cranberry walnut salad. Great healthy alternative to cookies or cake when a sweet tooth hits. Will purchase again.
Don't tell your kids these are nourishing, they're as delicious as candy! Sweet, moist, and exceptionally flavorful. Simply the best prunes I've ever tasted, not what our Grandma fed us. Huge health benefits too, from digestive to vitamins and minerals.
This is a tub of whole pitted prunes that are soft and sticky and sweet, and they stay soft for quite a while after opening as long as the lid goes is put back on tight. Most of the time these are softer even than the individually wrapped ones, my kids have no problem eating them after they're quartered.
The taste and moist texture set these a step above other brands of prunes. I look forward to having a couple with my morning coffee, a couple more with my evening tea. The plastic lidded container is so convenient, keeps them fresh and can be reused many time for food storage before finally going into the recyclables bin. For an indugent treat, try dipping the prunes, either whole or halved, in melted almond bark or white chocolate, or whatever your favorite candy-melt coating.
Oh my goodness! I apologize! I did a Review on SUNSEEET PRUNES - and I mistakenly Reviewed SUNSEEET PRUNES on my Prior Item I was Reviewing Just KNOW that as we get older, it is very important that we are more focused on what we put in our bodies! If you Google SUNSEEET PRUNES and ALL THE MANY BENEFITS - IN ADDITION TO HOW DELICIOUS, You will Thank yourself
This is a great solution for a constipation issue. I only have to eat 2 prunes in the container with my dinner( or 2-3) each evening %26 like clock work ... the next morning after I eat my cereal ... I have a full elimination/expelling of stools. I don't know how to say that last part ... but, you get the message. I always have GOOD RESULTS. PLUS! Prunes are good for Osteoporosis, just 5-6 prunes a day can help reduce bone loss %26 increase bone density! Their ANTI-INFLAMMATORY!
Fresh and plump prunes which I use every morning after I take my daily medicine, which would cause me acid stomach. Now the acidity is treated with the prunes, absorbing that stomach acid. Prunes are like shy girlfriends or boyfriends; they come in handy when needed.
Sunsweet us the only brand of prunes ( dried plums) my family will eat. None if the other brands compare. These are always sweet and juicy. Must be the way they are grown and processed. We have used these in brisket %26 pot roast recipes to give gravy a rich flavor
The Great Value brand was cheaper, but from Chile. So I bought the Sunsweet brand to support California growers, and the joke's on me. Surprise surprise, the Sunsweet prunes are imported from Argentina!! Oh well, live and learn. If a company doesn't tell you upfront where their product is from, don't buy it. Don't fall for the sweet story about growing fruit for over a hundred years, just to find out they didn't mean in the USA. The prunes are good, but I think about Argentina when I eat one. I bet the Chile prunes are just as good and lower priced.
