It's more like 2 minute cooking time, but still a quick, healthy and delicious breakfast before work. I personally put apple butter (2 full spoons for about 2 servings) after I take it out of the microwave. It tastes just like their apple and cinnamon instant oatmeal but healthier and cheaper.
Half a cup of Old Fashion Oats, 1/8 tablespoon of cinnamon, and 7 ounces milk. Cook in a 1000 Watt multistage microwave oven for 1:30 minutes at full power until milk begins to boil, then the second stage cooks for 2:30 minutes at 30% power. Let stand for 1 minute before removing from microwave. Add 1/3 cup of walnuts, 2 tablespoons of sliced almonds, 1 or 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup and a handful of blueberries. Delicious and nutritious.
If you like Quaker Oatmeal. This is a giant container. I recommend Quaker Oatmeal. I don't eat it plane, that's boring. I recommend adding a big scoop of peanut butter, drizzle of honey, a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper for warmth and sprinkle of kosher salt. Mix then enjoy. Finally run to the bathroom before doing work things.
Oatmeal has the flavor of childhood. It brings back so many good memories to me. I always put my. mother's fried potatoes in my oats and even fried bologna diced up. It's the best breakfast in the world with a steaming hot buttermilk biscuit loaded with fresh homemade butter on a cold morning when your fixing to catch the bus before school.
Quaker Old Fashioned Oats have been around for my whole life, and I'm not young anymore. I trust the brand and have never been disappointed in the quality and price. It's still one of the healthiest products available, no frills or fancy additives, just oats. The classic case of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
I actually do not eat these I use them in oatmeal honey soap that I make and it works very well. They are great to add the benefits of oatmeal to my soaps and the grains are exfoliating as well!
I don’t usually write reviews but Walmart asked me too, so what the heck. Imagine my complete lack of surprise when I opened the top of the package to find the container filled with whole grain oatmeal, identical in size, smell and texture to the 100s of other times I’ve bought the same thing. Having now cooked the entire package, I can say with certainty that mixing the ingredients with the amount of water and cooking it for the time indicated in the instructions results in hot oatmeal. If you like that, you’ll like this. If you don’t, I would stay away from this product, since it has very few other uses.
