I saw this bike online and I decided to purchase it the paint job is amazing shiny glossy black the rims look good for the price it's not bad at all I did change some parts on it I made it into a clunker
Super easy to install even for a beginner. Very comfortable riding and easy to pedal as well stop. A gorgeous green I must say this color scheme is perfect! Shipped fast and had no issues at all
First of all let me tell you I am 62 years young and have to pick up this bike to place on my RV ladders' bike rack.. I actually have a Black Schwinn Steel Frame Cruiser Bike that weighs 48 lbs. Try lifting that up over your head to put on your RV. This bike has an Aluminum Frame!!!!!! Only weighs about 28 lbs. I take it to the camp grounds to explore my scenic views. I DiD not put the fenders on the bike and it doesn't come with gears so it is very light weight to tool around on. Ordered and it arrived 2 days later in pristine condition(wish I had taken a photo of how good the box it was packed in arrived). Put it together in about an hour while watching DOOL :) This bike is really nice looking and for a Grandma, pretty rad too. May have to get another one at this price ($109) online for Papa. The LaJolla is a good solid bike. Nice thick tubular frame. Easy to assemble. Tires were dang near perfect trued, back tire maybe a little bit of wobble, really not enough to mention. Seat is okay for comfort if it starts to bug me I will upgrade to a more Cushioned style cruiser seat, but for now I can live with this one awhile. Seat is on a quick connect post so would not be hard to trade out if need be. May even switch out with the Schwinn's Cruiser seat just to test it out. The bright Green tire rims are really a stand out on the black frame. I just don't know why you are reading this many reviews??? If your sitting on the fence on this purchase vs something else that may cost a little bit more SAVE your MONEY, this IS what you were looking for!!!!
I purchase this as a Christmas gift for my man that believes in repairing instead of purchasing new. The upgrade was very much needed and appreciated. This bike was shipped to my house so there was some assembly needed. It was easy for him to assemble and gave him a project which he enjoys. The bike looks great and excited to put it to use in the next few weeks.
took about 30 min to put together, not too hard. you need tools (like an adjustable wrench) in order to loosen things and put the wheels on. the wheels do not come inflated, so make sure to inflate them. you'll quicklh realize theyre not inflated when you sit down XD the seat was my only main issue, its big but the portion you are supposed to tighten for stability, doesnt fully stabilze it. so putting pressure down in the seat causes it to lean forward. ill update if i end up fixing this issue it also didnt come with a screw for the front fender wheel, but its cosmetic primarily. good thing it wasnt for my kid. its a backwards pedal locking bike if anyone needs that info as well. im 5/7 and its almost too high up
I was looking for an inexpensive cruiser since I knew I would only be using it occasionally and that it would often be left outside in the elements and probably get damaged easily. The bike seems solid especially for the price. There were some small things like back wheel is slightly out of aligned and wobbles a bit and the seat is not very comfortable but for 100 bucks I'll deal with it. Also, does not include a basket as the description suggested.
We purchased a second one of these bikes because the aluminum frame holds up well at our beach house. This is actually the fourth one of these bikes in our house, they take the salt air well compared to steel frames, which rust out within several years. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is fenders are a little flimsy.
I gave this bike 3 stars because it looks really nice & works well but it is geared higher than most 3 speeds. If this was a seven speed bike, I would say this bike is geared to 6th or maybe even 7th speed. I fixed it by putting on a larger gear but most people aren't going to do that. I also had to raise the handlebars - too low.
Just go in to a store and get one somewhere else. The tires came with holes or something wrong with them, now I’m scrambling Christmas Eve to find new tires. Was a pain in the butt to put together, thank god my brother has all the tools because you need at least 5 different ones.
So this review is more about my experiance with the Kent customer service then the bike. As far as the bike it arrived on-time. the bike was nicely packed and there was no damage. putting the bike together was straight forward with only having to install the front fender, front tire, peddles, seat and handle bars. The issue i had was one washer head nut was missing and one peddle would not screw in to the crank arm. I called Kent customer service and they told me to take photos of the issues and email it to the Kent warranty representative. the reply I got from Kent was that I cross threaded the peddle while assembling the bike and would not replace the peddle. I brought the peddle to the bike shop to replace it and was told there was nothing wrong with the peddle but the crank arm was bad. With that I emailed Kent back advising them the crank arm was bad and to please send me a new part. their response was to return the bike to walmart for a refund. All i wanted was a new $15.00 crank arm so i could complete the bike assembly to give as a gift. returning the bike was not an option as Walmart was out of stock snd a replacement wouldn't arrive until after Christmas. At this point Kent advised again that I damagd the peddle and would not send out a replacement part. I had to purchase one on my own and the peddle easily treaded into the crank arm. So great bike for the money but Kent customer service dropped the ball and really made this a miserable buying experience!
