It's a strong lock and does it's job very well. When I was going through the reviews before buying it, I noticed that people complained about how it comes with a certain number combination. It's no big deal, it's just 4 digits combination and you definitely don't forget it if you're active with your bike everyday. It's a very strong and good lock, isn't it all that matters?

It is what it is. It's a reasonably priced bike cable lock. The combination is preset. It works as described.

good item with the length. would have been good if we can choose the code. May be it would increase the price :)

The pre-set combination pretty much kills the deal for us. We need to be able to choose and to set relevant codes that are memorable for a group of people, not to be unilaterally told to memorize just one new non-relevant number. Great- it comes with a tiny piece of metal with the code on it, so anyone who has access to your keys (or takes them) knows the code number. Otherwise, a fairly decent item for its price. Should be fine in public places where people don't carry large wire-cutting devices.

When I say Cheap, meaning the price is not valued for the product. The price is low compared to many others... that is true. However, that does not mean you pay for a poor quality products. Low price lock should mean it does not work as strong as the high price one. As consumers compromise for the low price equals to poor quality, the manufacturers just take it for granted to provide junks... in that sense, why bothered? The main problem is the mechanism of the number lock does not work well, it gets stuck all the time...

Lock is described as a level 1 security lock; that means it's not hard to break %26 the cable wire is thin too so it's more suitable for kids. the passkey for the kock is pre-set %26 cannot be changed!

Nothing wrong with the product, but the cable is too thin to provide much security unless bike is locked at places visible to general public. That may explain why the security level is rated the lowest "1".. .

[Employee of walmartcanada] Had my bike locked up outside of work, a man came by, grabbed my bike by the seat and handle bars, yanked on it a few times until the lock broke apart, rode away on my bike. If you live in a very secure area you could probably get away with this lock but if you live in a city or anywhere where bike theft is common, get a stronger lock.
