Black beans are heart-healthy, and a very good way to provide the protein and fiber most Americans need in their diet. Black beans have a delicious flavor all their own, and do not need much, if any, salt. An average cook can make a full meal from only a single cup of beans, cooked in a crockpot. Crockpot cooking, actually, is ideal for cooking beans and lentils, and can be left at low heat to cook for hours, absorbing the flavor of garlic and other ingredients. I set a crockpot-full of beans and lentils to start cooking through the day, and it is ready for an evening meal.

I love Great value my first choice in beans, they are great for black beans soup and for burritos, i usually cooked them until soft and mashed them, place them in my flour tortillas add a little tomato and cilantro and of course sour cream… yummy

I used what i meeded and then put the rest pf the dry beans into jars for future use! Beans were delish!

They're great. Just like the more expensive brand. I cook them in my instant pot and they're ready in about an hour.

so, a lot of split beans, a few floaters and an occasional hard bean. however, the bigger bag and price point make up for it.

The quality is fine, I mean, they're dried beans, how can you go wrong. My main complaint is the price, which has been creeping up steadily recently without justification. There's virtually zero labor that goes into these staples, yet the price is keeping pace with other products. Worse, some cheaper brands are intentionally no longer carried to make Great Value seem like a better deal when it isn't. In summary, look for these staples in bulk elsewhere, you may be surprised by how much you save. Walmart really letting us down here...

I was surprised at the quality of these. So many were broken, bad, and I had several pinto beans in my bag.

I'm going to add the last several bags that I've ordered. These though are the worst. Beans are not reconstituting which may mean they're too old but these appear to even be moist and wrinkled like raisins. Please test them for safety.

All of the bulk beans in my order arrived with holes torn in the bags. Not at all secure or food safe.

was great until I bit down on rock! neeedless to say ill be buying mine elsewhere now.
