This is absolutely the very best chicken feed money can buy. If my ladies aren’t standing at the fence waiting for it every morning, they come running for it as soon as they hear me scooping! And I have noticed when I don’t have Henhouse, Reserve on hand they tend to be more sluggish. Henhouse Reserve is well known in the home chicken raising arena as the gold standard. It works wonderfully for all of my adolescent and full grown hens along with my rooster if he isn’t taking his portion and giving it to the ladies. I have Silkies and do wish it came in a higher protein version, but I can always supplement. My ladies have been eating this for over a year and haven’t seemed to miss the extra protein, though. They are actually doing better than they did on high-protein! Their feathers are more beautiful, more than we’ve had with any other feed we’ve given them, their health is very good, and egg laying has increased. Plus their eggshells are good and strong. And, although I’m not sure the feed has much to do with it, they have a wonderful hatch rate. They are certainly strong enough for their lengthy broody stages. I will always feed my chickens Henhouse Reserve now that I know better.

A truly all-inclusive feed that the chickens adore! I've been able to reduce the feed amount without issue, which helps with cost evaluation. I've also fermented this product %26 they love it even more. Thank you for carrying this product...it is a life-saver!

This is a premium feed, high protein, all natural ingredients, and it enhances eggs yolk quality, you wouldn't believe how yellow (practically orange) these yolks are!! Plus it might be me, but I think the shells are stronger too! The flock loves it, chicks, roosters, ducks! Nutritionally rich that promotes your flock's overall health!! It's a little higher price but look what you're getting!! Super Food! Highly recommend!

Spectacular Feed! Turkey, Hens and all fowl love this. We get this brand specifically in late fall here in southern middle Tennessee. Our wild fowl love it. We just throw it around and some in long trails. The ravens guard it while the others enjoy. Everyone has fun window watching ♥️

This feed is awesome! I free range my young chickens, so I want feed similar to what I want them to look for in their pasture. It is surprising difficult to find feed that isn’t disintegrated into pellets and crumbles (which seem to encourage eating cardboard and chipboard), and turn to goopy mush when I soak them). The brand with whole seed and kelp pellets in it, that I had started them on, was unavailable, so I tried this one, and I am very impressed! Will be buying again.

I love this feed includes whole grains and legumes,calcium and grit. No need to add different suppliments. My chickens, ducks, geese and quail have gained wt. to a good condition and chickens have started laying eggs again even though we are in December and short daylight hours.

I have 8 chickens, 2 roosters, one rabbit, too many pigeons. They love this food! Even the visitors birds, and squirrels, they love this food! And I been getting sooooooooo many eggs a day, we had to start giving them away and even sell them. I highly recommend it!

My chickens love this stuff, and it makes for amazingly golden yolks. The only thing I'd suggest is having a screen on your feeders, because they will try and dig through this to find their "favorite" pieces a bit more than they do with plain feed. : )

Kalmbach is a wonderful feed. I never could find this in stores so I am SOOOOO grateful that my Walmart carries it now. I actually use this as a scratch feed and scatter it around their run. My girls can be picky and will pick out their favorite pieces if I just place it in a feeder. They are thriving and I love knowing that they are getting a nutritious feed that isn't filled with a bunch of cheap fillers.

I have purchased this item many times. After opening the bag, I noticed it was different. Very clumpy and oily and nothing like the many times before. They’re little bugs that are crawling around in it. My chickens love it, but will not eat this current bag. Period I will return this bag for a full refund.
