The canning jar companies are no longer making white screw caps. I can only find them in black. These work exactly like the ones I used to buy from Ball. Im so pleased the way they work on both jars that have been canned and then opened, or for storing food in the refrigerator for short term use. I also like to include a white screw cap with a gift of homemade quince jelly or fruit jam.

Since I live at altitude I can't do canning, but I use canning jars to store a lot of things. These lids are wonderful. They fit perfectly, are easier to manipulate than 2-part lids, and can go in the dishwasher with the jars. The price is very reasonable, too.

I prefer these to the metal lids because these won't rust in the dishwasher. I put them in the top basket and they fair well. And, these make the jars have a cuter, softer look for uses other than canning. They perfectly fit the wide-mouth jars.

I bought my first ones 15 or so years ago and am still using those. that I canned with the medal rings and after they were properly sealed and ready for storage I replace the medal ones with these, to prevent rusting. They tighten well and are top draw dish washer safe.

I do a lot of canning. I find the Mainstays canning lids, in both the narrow mouth and wide mouth versions are great for storing opened jars that will not be used in one sitting. Since canned goods are not to be stored with their rings, these come in handy in the refrigerator. Now pickles, salsa, etc. can be stored easily. The lids fit all canning jars well, are easy to clean and are sturdy. I highly recommend these.

If the jar is wide mouth canning the lid fits. It may not seal tight enough to prevent liquid leaking if the jar is not upright. Other wide mouth jars don't have enough turns for the lid to fit on. I use my 2 quart canning jars and these lids for fridge storage of soup recipes. Those are awesome!

I have two 12 jar flats of Wide mouth jars. So I needed 24 plastic lids. Since the lids come in packages of eight, I ordered three packages. What I received was two packages of wide mouth lids and one package of regular lids. There is a 60-cent price difference between wide mouth and regular lids. So not only did I not receive what I ordered, but I was overcharged for what I did receive. These lids are great lids. I have used them for years. Whoever packed this box needs to go back to packing School.

I will not order from Walmart again, although I may shop in their store. My order was split into two separate shipments. Both shipments were labeled with my address but were delivered by the carrier to a location that was not mine. The delivery location was not even near mine and was a house, not a business. Walmart could not tell me what delivery service they used and could not tell me to what address the package was delivered. This does not give me confidence in ordering on line from them again.

Some dummy put wide mouth lids in my box when I ordered regular mouth lids. Super annoying waste of time. Walmart should refund and give me my correct order for wasting my time. I miss the days of small box stores that were actually helpful
