Mainstays Wide Mouth 16 oz Pint Mason Canning Jars with Lids and Rings, 12-Pack

I'm extremely happy with these jars and lids — they exceeded my expectations in both quality and versatility. The jars arrived well-packaged with no cracks or defects, and the glass feels thick and durable. The lids fit securely and seal tightly, which is exactly what I needed for keeping contents fresh. I've used them for everything from pantry storage to homemade sauces and DIY projects, and they've performed flawlessly every time.

My hobby is making sourdough bread and these jars are wonderful for sourdough starter. Perfect for feeding the starter and great when you want to give a friend some starter to begin their sourdough bread making journey. The price is much lower than other brands and they serve the purpose very well.

I bought these to do meal mixes for quick mixes. Everything is dry that goes into them, so there is no need to pressure can the mix, therefore I'm uncertain how they actually pressure seal. But I do like these. There is no narrowing of the top of the jar neck and that makes it nice to pour in dry ingredients. The glass is heavy, another plus for dry mix storage in cabinets. I will order again as needed.

On initial inspection, these jars to be comparable in quality and workmanship to the name brand canning jars. They performed as expected, the test of time will be the deciding factor as to determining if these jars can protect the integrity of the foods preserved in them in the same manor as the tried-and-true jars that our parents, grandparents %26 great-grandparents have used for generations.

The lids are not great. They look fine, but when I pressure can with them at least one in each dozen will not seal, unlike Ball lids that almost always seal. Out of five dozen Ball lids, for example, one might not seal. I've read others say they do better with water bath canning, but I don't do that often so can't address that. If you just need jars, they are fine.

I purchased this product believing I was getting 16-ounce jars. I purchased them for a business venue. I love this product for several reasons: 1. The seal 2. The gold lid 3. measuring marks on the jar. 4. The product was delivered the next day to meet my deadline. When I opened the package, the jars appeared to be 16 ounces, but they weren't. They only hold 12 ounces. I had no time to send them back and had to apologize to customers about not being able to fulfill their order in time. I was forced to go to the Dollar General and get 16-ounce jars to complete the task. Not good for business. I'm not in the business of cheating people, and I don't like feeling cheated either. I'm glad to know that you carry 12 ounces in this product. I ordered 16. Was the product picked up by accident? Just in case this was an accident and there is someone who addresses feedback, do you carry 4, 6, and 8 ounces?

The jars themselves are ok, but the lids are garbage. The gum is rock hard and doesn't seal and they don't even sit right on the jar rims compared to name brands. I got a case for vacuum sealing dry shelf stable goods like beans and such, and now I have to buy new lids.

Honest to goodness they REEK of mildew! Thought washing would clean them right up but the smell is still there. Idk if we got a bad batch but I'm not sensitive to smell - so just save yourself the headache. Spend a few bucks more to get the “real thing” - those arrived in perfect condition and are worth the $2 “savings” in water and soap alone. Giving these jars a generous 2 stars bc they did arrive unbroken. Undeserving of anything else. Ugg!

First time i have had so much trouble canning, Not one of these jars sealed with my canning. Waiste of my time and money....all canned goods will go to waiste..DO Not Buy!!! I should get a refund!! all the jars of my other brand lids sealed within minutes every one...

theae were cheapest jars I could find.. 3 of 12 had chips.. 2 on threads, one at rim. couple others had bubles or dirt imperfections. If you need knicknack storage jars, these are great for you, just be careful on sharp edges where chipped.. but if you are canning, reading other reviews and my experience suggests this isnt for you.
