This item was something I bought as a gift. Once I saw how it actually worked was when I realized it was definitely worth it. This suits the gopro for almost every occasion. Whether you want to have it still filming on a surface or if you want to take great featured selfies with full backgrounds. I would recommend this to any gopro lovers or new users.
Great purchase, very versatile.
This product worked in all positions as shown, it was exactly what I wanted.
I primarily use it folded for snorkeling and the tripod when hiking for "selfies" getting a wide background. Occasionally open it up. Good adjustability when I do. Was worried it might not be durable when I received it, but has held up very well so far.
I loved the concept of the 3-way and it worked very well - my favourite especially being as a tripod. However if the tripod legs could be made a little bit longer somehow i feel it would be a bit more sturdy and resilient (my movies and timelapses are sometimes a little wobbly from the movement of the tripod in light wind etc). However the 3-way is incredibly handy and was the first and best purchase i made at gopro alongside my camera. Sadly i dropped it and it now lies at the bottom of the Mediterranean sea but a new purchase of one will be coming along soon for sure!
If used as an extension pole it does the trick but for anything else, it doesn't work. I used it as a poleto get some elevation for timelapse but the slightest breeze made it sway from side-to-side, ruining the timelapse. I would recommend but only if using it for extra length for a shot as the handle fits lovely.
I tried this out with the tiny Hero 4 Session. The tiny camera made it too top heavy and the tripod actually fell over with my brand new camera on it. The legs are super cheap, not wide enough, slip around and are not strong enough to sustain a camera, not even with my tiny little Hero 4 Session. I'm really shocked at the price but more shocked at the poor design by GoPro. I am returning mine and went with the JOBY GorillaPod Action Tripod with Mount for GoPro, Black/Red: http://www.walmart.com/ip/41057237 which even has a built in Level. Very pleased with the Joby and it was almost half the price I paid for this poor quality Selfie-Stick. Purchase the Joby that can stand on its own just about anywhere and get yourself a $10 Selfie-Stick.
It's not what i was looking for. I want to return it.
I was gifted this mount by my boyfriend for our Sedona trip last week. I was so excited to use it! I captured some awesome videos and pics! On the last day we went cliff jumping and I lost it in the deep end when I jumped! I have the floating mount as well but I was hoping to capture videos of me and my friends cliff jumping with the selfie stick. I couldn't believe I dropped it!!! The selfie stick is too stiff! The tripod portion is very flimsy. It also sucks it doesn't have the wristlet so if you have an accident like me it's still hanging from your wrist. I'm so sad I lost my GoPro but most importantly all my footage!
I purchased this product because of the brand. I skipped aftermafket products thinking that as a go pro product, it will stand use. It falled from a 2 ft height without the camera attached and it broke in pieces. I will not replace it with any other go pro product
