The hand weights are a great bargain at this price. They are well-made and should last a lifetime. The only negative is that the rubber coating gives off a strong smell, I would not give this item a low mark because I was aware of the strong smell before I made the purchase. When checking the price I found that this set of Dumbbells was about half of the price of a similar rubber coated set of Gold's Dumbbells.
The grips are comfortable. The hex head keeps them from rolling away. The rubber coating is good for protecting the dumbbells. Watch the prices carefully and you can get a great value. For some reason a particular size will be really cheap. I paid fifty-seven for a pair of thirty-fives, far better than one dollar per pound, but at the same time a pair of twenty-fives was one hundred thirty-one dollars... So, pay attention and get a great deal.
I rate this product at a 10. I've ordered this produce (weights) several times and have always been satisfisfied with the product itself and the shipping speed.
Premium dumbbells at a great price! Much better fitted handle grip than the flat handle grey ones that I have purchased in the past. Safety-coated ends. Happy.
I have been looking for heavier weights for a while but the prices have been crazy high. These were right in line with what I expected to pay and are exactly what I needed.
I was adding heavier dumbbells to my set. Walmart had the best prices of all the sites I checked and they are the same great quality of my other CAP dumbbells
These are a little smelly, but like a new gym so it can be motivating. I bought 7 sets, 15s through 45s and they fit great on my rack that is probably supposed to hold 9 sets. I like having a little space between the sets. Overall good quality and cheapest rubber coated dumbbells I could find with their rollback price. I did clean each one with a lysol wipe to get as much oil or residue off. They still might mark up your clothes a little, so don't wear anything that you don't want to chance. Still great dumbbells.
I ordered these weights for myb15byear old son so he can build strength ( he plays high school football) He loves the weights and works out with them and the stability ball frequently.
Initial assessment is visual only; I bought these in pairs, and understand they are shipped in separate boxes. However, I only received 1 of 2 dumbbells, with no information saying it will be delivered later. Dumbbell appears well made on visual inspection.
The 35lb. pair of dumbells look good and feel nice but they actually weigh 36.6lbs. I weighed them on two separate scales (one is medical grade) and both scales consistently that the dumbells were over weight by 1.6 to 1.8 lbs. I also have 40lb dumbell pairs from another manufacturer that weigh approximately 39.5 lbs. so what should be a 5lb difference is only 3lbs between my 35s and 40s. Hard to give a real rating only time will tell. I know they are heavier than what they should be but if they last 20 years or more they'll be worth it. I've had them less than a week. If they were another lb. heavier I'd probably send them back because that's too close to my 40s and too far above my 30s.
