My Dad always had electrical tape, in his tool box. He used it to make repairs on things, others may not have thought to use it, to repair. A leaky hose? Electrical tape. Broken toy? Electrical tape. Until he could get a more permanent fix, a new part, or replace the item - it was repaired with electrical tape. I purchased this electrical tape to fix my leaky hose and the fairly new headphones, I have. The headphones always fit a bit tightly and one day the heavy black plastic head piece just snapped in two. What to do, what to do..... I know - electrical tape! This tape molded to the head phones, keeping the parts held tightly together and secure, so I can use the headphones, again. Plus, since the headphones are black, the tape barely shows. The leaky hose no longer leaks, either. I can't afford to replace either of those items, right now, but I could afford the electrical tape. Thanks, Dad.
Wrapped a critical outdoor wire that is exposed to sun and heat. This appears to be the best quality tape for such an application at a very reasonable price.
3 M electrical tape has been the choice of Electricians for more than 50 years.
As an electrician I can assure you this is the best electrical tape you can buy. Unless there's one I haven't ever tried I suppose. It sticks harder, lasts longer, works best. For the 1 star review guy it's marked for professionals and you just don't know how to use tape. It is pressure sensitive so you have to press it for full adhesion. Also stretching it slightly while putting it on activates the adhesive.
This is quite possibly the worst electrical tape you could ever buy, sure, it prevents any unwanted contact, but the problem is that this tape is one of a kind that only adheres to itself and nothing else, you could wrap miles of this around whatever you want and slide it off with minimal effort, definitely never buying this again.
I've used this tape for personal and professional. Always trusted service, bought 2 rolls from home store yesterday both rolls won't even stick to itself. Not worth spending gas money to take it back!
