This is the best iron I've ever had and I'm ranking it against my Rowenta and other expensive irons. I want to get a second one for a backup in case they stop making it! As a quilter, I appreciate the convenience of overriding the auto-off feature so I don't have to wait for it to heat up every few minutes. But it heats up faster than any of my other irons, so I don't think it would matter much. Seriously, forget all the overpriced junk out there (looking at you, Rowenta) and buy this one. Buy two, just in case. You can now afford it.
The iron heats up quickly and does an excellent job at the ONE THING I need it to do....iron clothes. It does have an automatic shut off and will shut off in the middle of me using it after about an hour but that's okay... I know it's safety feature. Great iron.... highly recommend
We had this same iron for years. When it stopped working we immediately looked for it on line and Walmart had the same one. It is the best iron we ever had. It is light and we especially like the retractable cord feature.
I have never ironed before and this iron made it so easy! It has clear settings, good amount of steam and you can easily control that amount if needed with the dial! Also, it's not heavy at all! the steak, lightness of the iron made the heat plate glide along the clothes effortlessly.
The automatic shut off that requires a reset button to turn it back on is a great feature (years ago my iron fell onto the floor and restarted; burned the linoleum). The retractable cord is another great feature; although it doesn't retract all the way for some reason.
Upon unpacking the item it appeared to be refurbished. I was hesistant about even trying it out but I’m glad that I did. For $17.47, it didn’t matter if it wasn’t brand new in box as long as it works. So far, I love it. It’s heavier than my past irons but that’s because there is a spot at the bottom of the iron to hold the retractable cord. Glad the kids or dog won’t be tripping over the cord. The iron holds a lot of water for the steam. My favorite feature is that it turns off on its own. I have a very bad habit of not unplugging the iron. My last one was left on for so long that the plate detached from the rest of the iron from the interior melting but now I won’t have that issue with this one
i generally jave great faith in Hamilton Beach products, however this one took fprever and a day to arrive soncouldnt have crispy uniforms daily. It foes well while in operation. however it will leak water when on iron rack and has to be emptied between uses. also the retraction button contantly gets stuck and the retracting spring does not retract cord more than 3 inches. i have to feed ot by hand onto spindle.
it barely get hot enough for me. And the express steam button is not functional! Regular steam is barley there! I will be returning it! And it didn't have any papers with it at all! Nothing but the iron in the box! So, I am looking to have a problem returning it!!!😞
It was good while it lasted. I purchased on January 15th and by May 23rd it was pouring water out of the bottom holes on the face plate. I contacted Hamilton Beach and they will replace it under warranty but it costs $15 shipping. Not worth the risk considering I didn’t pay much more originally. I wouldn’t buy this unless you want a disposable iron.
This was the 2nd USED iron I waited on to do projects %26 delivered used %26 nasty smears %26 scrathces. So I thought I will try to use the first one, it leaked %26 the steamer from whatever was already in it %26 smelled like it was going to burn up. It was at the highest setting . I needed to steam press wrinkled cotton fabric. I finally got the 2nd Hamilton Beach iron %26 it was worst than the first. Nasty smears %26 scratches, JUST NASTY. I wanted this iron because it will stay hot 1 hour before auto shut off. I did not take more pictures because touching the 1st iron was nasty %26 wrapped in tissue paper so I knew better than to take it out to clean it. I did not get to use the reservoir on the 1st iron it smelled like it was going to burn.
