My niece loves this gift - she's into STEM activities. This was fairly easy to put together and once it had a chance to charge the "can car" worked. Don't look for a super speedy can but it worked and it's exciting to see the end result actually work.
Purchased the kit for our grandson to give him hands on building and introducing him to science projects. They had fun putting the kit together and playing with it.
It is educational as well as fun for kids
Easy to use, my son enjoyed putting it together. Worked as expected
Bought this for a nine year old friend's birthday! We'll see what he thinks!
I got this as a gift for a neighbor who loves STEM!
My grandson loves this! Easy to follow instructions and easy assembly.
Great for a 9 year old
My 9 year old daughter built this entirely by herself. She wasn't sure how to fold the piece of plastic that makes up the body of this car, but that's the only thing she needed help with! So it is easy for kids to figure out. It also really does work! It won't work on a cloudy day, but if it's sunny, it does drive on its own. My kids were super excited to see that
I received the Eco-Engineering Solar Rover set. This set is very cool that you can build your own solar powered car! I will note that this set is for 8 years and older. My 9 year old did get it together but I can tell that someone considerably younger would need a lot more help. The instructions are good but the kids need a tiny bit of help reading and understanding them, but they got it together and it is neat when it runs. Don't waste your time on a cloudy day but it is still a neat product. I love that it goes with the Science and technology that is being pushed in the schools now. My kids love this type stuff so I knew this would be right up their alley to build and use a set like this. We did recycle an old soda can that was empty to use as the body for this. I am sure you could also use a tube of cardboard also. I don't know how heavy you could make it before the car would not move, so keep it light. All around I love this is an educational toy yet the kids still think it is neat to build and watch it go!
