The papers are really smooth. It also doesn't leave a print on the back after writing so if you are the person that skips one page to write in a good page I highly recommend this notebook because the page you skip will look just like the other good pagw

Loving the covers; they are a heavy-duty paper (like chipboard) and plain. If you are a doodler, artist, or stamper, you can decorate each cover yourself. They are all muted colors, but nice. You can use each one for a separate topic and know by the color which one you need at a glance. They are as described for size and amount of pages each. They come very nicely boxed together and arrived in perfect condition. Wish I needed more, I would buy them again. Don't know why they titled it "for students," they are for anyone needing a medium-sized notebook. I don't know why they put "refill" in the title either, these are stand-alone notebooks.
