i was looking for food I could have after having gastric bypass surgery and I was having cravings for pancakes and came across this pancake mix it's high in protein and is made with whole grains just what you need on a Bariatric lifestyle. I thought I'd never have pancakes again. only use this item if your at a point in your program to do so. always check with you dietitian.
I love the taste of pancakes made with this Kodiak high protein pancake mix. I've tried this years ago and liked it back then but took a break from boxed mixes to make homemade pancakes for a while. When I had a baby and was up day and night for months, I needed to find some quick meal prep solutions, so I came back to this pancake mix. I really like it. The whole grains taste so good, and the pancakes have such a rich taste. For my pancakes, I like a 1:1 ratio of mix to water. Sometimes I add pumpkin puree, some pumpkin pie spices and add less water to make pumpkin pancakes. I'm keeping this stocked in my pantry for the foreseeable future.
Best pancake and waffle mix on the market. High protein, high fiber, low sugar, and makes delicious, fluffy, and crispy waffles and pancakes. I use this in a 6" cast iron several times a week (with a little extra whey protein added) to make my 5 y.o. a quick and nutritious pancake breakfast. In our Cuisinart electric grill and griddle with waffle plates, I make batches of four delicious, high quality waffles at a time with various fillings, such as banana-walnut, mixed berry, or apple-pecan. We eat one or two, and freeze the rest for quick reheating in the oven or air fryer later. Much more economical than buying premade frozen waffles. We usually have these pancakes or waffles with a small amount of dark amber 100% pure maple syrup. This mix makes more filling and nutrient-dense results than typical sugary white flour pancake mix, but I still usually add a little extra whey protein powder and need some type of additional protein on the side, like a fried egg or avocado toast. For our 5 y.o., with the added whey protein and some frozen berries on the side, one 6" pancake is perfect. Hot tip: Top a round pancake with a little "sauce" (syrup), some "cheese" (unsweetened shredded coconut), and cut into 6 or 8 wedges with a pizza cutter, and it's a Breakfast Pizza. (You can actually cut anything into wedges with a pizza cutter and make it a Whatever Pizza. Shhhhh.) For the grownups (or more adventurous kids): Mix a couple tablespoons of Kodiak Cakes mix with one beaten egg and some shredded zucchini, cook as normal, then season with sea salt, white pepper, and maybe a little paprika and/or cumin. Quick three-ingredient zucchini fritters! Great as a side with beef or lamb sliders and some homemade tzatziki. Anyway, buy Kodiak Cakes. I keep a backup box in the pantry at all times in case we're running low. I consider it a critical household staple.
I have been buying this exact brand of protein pancake/waffle mix for YEARS! I absolutely love it and would not use anything else. I always make waffles which come out perfectly in my waffle maker. Will continue to purchase as long as they sell them!
I have used this mix for pancakes and waffles, added it to cake mixes, quick bread mixes, and cookies. The very mild taste adds to whatever I'm cooking, AND it adds a little extra protein to my foods. This is important to me, and what's not to love in adding in something as a sweet treat that adds nutritional value and tasts good? Win-Win!
I'm currently changing my diet as a result of a visit with a nutritionist. She also uses this product and the Oat product, both of which I'm now using for my morning routine. The boxes are environmentally friendly, and the recipe can be completed with just water or by adding an egg and milk for more protein.
I do love this mix. I weigh out the amount I want every morning and then add fruit, unsweetened almond milk, and an egg to make waffles. They are a little bland if you don't add ingredients to make them like you want. But they are a great option if you like waffles and on a healthy journey.
I'm a meal prepper so you'd probably go through 1 box very quickly but they taste really good and you can always jazz things up. Add protein powder, fruit, nuts, chocolate chips as you please. I've even added this to my personal pancake batter as "an extra cup of flour" since I like making my pancake from scratch.
Kodiak pancake and waffle mix is something that I always have in my cupboard always on the ready. I love the quality of it, the taste is superior to other waffle and pancake mixes, it has the perfect blend of delicious seasonings and ingredients and finding it here is always an amazing value!
I purchased their Frozen ones and they were great. this mix however is absolutely terrible. after cooking and waffle maker they were going and tasted uncooked although they were cooked. bland horrible texture. I went to their website to talk to the company and they want refund anything unless it was bought from their company direct.
