I've been buying a more expensive brand for years and they rate great, but it was mostly a bunch of little sardines packed into the can. This has about 4 large sardines in the can and they taste amazing. This is now my go to brand for sardines. I love them in oil and the excess oil is poured over my dog's food. He is happy, I am happy. It's a win-win.
Sardine snobs like to look down at these sardines but these are good, especially for the price. Great Value sardines are far superior to Beach Cliff. Do not buy Beach Cliff sardines. They are terrible. If you have a bit more in your budget i'd recommend buying King Oscar. You can see the difference, but again, the Great Value brand is not a bad choice.
I love these!!! Throw these babies in a pan after deboning (optional) - with a little oil from the tin - Toss over med heat/season to taste - Toast 2 slices of bread - Spread Mayo %26 a slice of Onion - Spread Sardines - Enjoy!!! Try Open-Faced for a Twist!😍
I Was Very Surprised By Great Value. I Have Tried Others And Thought A Certain Brand Stood Out. Well, Competition Has Arrived. The Size Were Large Pieces. Not Drowning In Oil. The Taste Was All That. Try It with Grits. Cook The Sardine With Onions ( Southern Style ). My Family Enjoyed It. Took A Chance And Bought 6 Cans Based On The Reviews. Ordering 6 More. Yes, I Recommend. Thank You Reviewers.
The taste was good and I'm a picky eater. you can add mustard, hot sauce whatever if you like or eat plain. The oil isn't oily either. Only complaint I have is trying to open the can and the tab breaks off, low quality and trying to pull it back isn't that easy for me (and I'm no weakling but maybe it is me).
I never bought or ate sardines but wanted to try them as a new source of protein. Turns out, I personally don't like them, and they smelled a little strong for my taste . However, I gave them a good review because GV brand sardines were plumper than I thought they would be. Their was enough in the can they would have made a nice sized snack for one or two with crackers. They like salmon have bones but the cooking process they are easy to remove, maybe edible.
These l👀k fishy but they are delicious with crackers. They are believed to contain rare Omega nutrients so they are a good staple for your sh the fan survival / food storage pantryv( even though the nutrients are not listed on the label.) Ive ordered several times and they never send bent or damaged cans . I'll order more sardines for sure from this great company -Perfect stars.
I would rather have them much bigger, females, and jumping from the boats in western Europe, bbq with a salad and a potato....and great olive oil!! in USA people don't know big sardines or any of the great fist of the Atlantic. WM sardines, don't where they come from. but they are as close in size as canned will be! VERY TASTY! the others in cans are called Petingas, no taste. sardines are great fat for you, and salmon too, with Omega 3...and 22!! Fatty fish Hate me, think they have a BOLO alert on me....ok time to go....
so there's no nutritional label on it or anything else I might buy them again but I'm actually looking for sardines and olive oil not sardines and soybean oil I just can't find them here but it would only be one can I would buy at a time . taste like tuna though
Sardines were sloshing around in the cans - not vacuum packed. I have gotten sardines from several other producers, and never seen that before. The can I opened: fish had large blotches. Raggedly cut. Looked like they'd been banged around. Threw opened one away, requested return for the other cans.
