I've loved the Idahoan Baby Reds mashed potatoes for several years and I've passed on the word of how yummy and easy they are. As a senior i buy the packets instead of cooking potatoes and boiling. They are so easy and yet I prefer these to real home cooked taters. Too much work making them the old way. My daughter has twins and some days cooking supper needs to be quick and still delicious. Or my other friends that I've fed and they honestly thought I prepared the side dish the old way. I'm just worried bc lately I'm finding it harder to buy the baby reds. Prices are crazy now as well. I pay $1.44 a small packet but the prices are 2 for $7. in the Walmart app and that is way too much. I'm planning to stock up this month ahead, I fear one day in the near future they'll be hard to find.
Love these Potatoes packs. Taste like fresh mashed potatoes. Not too salty and seasoned just right. Just follow instructions and they come out perfect. Great to grab if you are in a rush!
Very easy and uses water. DH grew up with instant mashed potatoes and loves these. If I am having some, I use a less amount of liquid with half water/half milk and add in butter. DH loves them the original way, and the next morning I will pan-fry leftovers in patties to go with his eggs. So easy to make when I don't feel like cooking.
My friend turned me on to this product and I've never looked back! Boil a bottle for water (2 cups), add the potatoes, stir and let sit for a few then VOILA!! A great little side dish for any meat dish! It's just my husband and me and this is perfect- no fuss, no mess! We love it!
These are my favorite packaged mashed potatoes. I'm picky about how the flavor. These really do have a homemade taste. Full of flavor! I especially love the small pieces of the red potatoe skin. They are thick, chunky %26 really do taste awesome. I don't buy any other because these are by far, the best I've ever tried!
My family really likes the taste and texture of LOTS of the different flavors of Idahoan mashed potatoes. We eat them regularly. These Baby Reds have a lovely smooth texture with tasty little flavor-bombs added. I do not follow directions, though. I use a 1/2 cup of milk and 1 1/2 water. I add s%26p, of course, and I add a good amount of butter. I prepare ALL the various flavors of my Idahoan mashed potatoes this way. My local Walmart was out of this flavor so a few packets were shipped. The shipment came earlier than expected and were well-packaged.
Potatoes with the peels blended in are so good and healthy. That perfect side that goes with everything. Delicious flavor. So easy to make. Even if they come in. Powder form they taste like you made them from scratch. Taste is fantastic
They taste great and doesn't get any easier just boil water and mix in . Also great side note the amount of water needed is 16 fluid ounces which is the amount in most all bottled water so when I'm camping don't need measuring cups! Only reason a 4 not 5 is occasionally there are some chunks in them nothing gross just the dried butter in the mix?
The past three bags I have gotten may have been stored in a cold environment or frozen. There is some clumps of potatoes that have stuck together which can happen when something is frozen, thaws out and refreezes and dries out. This hasn't affected the taste any and I didn't see any mold on them so I cooked them without any problem.
I waited and waited for a discount offer, placed a huge order once I received one, only to immediately receive a better offer after placing my order. It enrages me when companies do that. If you are willing to provide a 20% discount then do it, don't offer me a 15% discount then once I place order offer a 20% discount. Its shoddy marketing and makes me completely disloyal. Doesn't matter the quality of product.
